×This final project report was written based on the writer’s job training as an English teacher in SD Negeri 01 Dagen which was done for one month. The objectives of this project are to describe the type of pictures used in English teaching and learning process to the third grade students of SDN 01 Dagen, to describe the stages of teaching in which the pictures were used in English teaching and learning process to the third grade students of SDN 01 Dagen and to describe the benefits of using pictures in English teaching and learning process to the third grade students of SDN 01 Dagen.
Based on the discussion, the writer used the pictures in teaching and learning process. The type of pictures used was picture of single object. The use of pictures in teaching the material could be divided into three stages: presentation, exercise and closing the lesson. In the presentation, the pictures were used to make the students more interested in learning the material and to make the teacher easier in delivering the material. The explaining given to the students could be divided into several skills, they were: listening, speaking, reading and writing. In giving the exercises, the pictures were used to make the students to express their ideas through language so that they will be more creative in using the language. The exercises given to the students could be divided into several activities, they were: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In reviewing, the pictures were used to remind the students about the material given.
The writer found out the benefits of using pictures in teaching and learning process, these were: the pictures could help the teacher in controlling the class condition, the pictures were the media to teach the material more easily, the pictures could motivate students and make them want to pay attention and the pictures could make students to memorize the word easily. Pictures made the teaching and learning process more enjoyable for both the teacher and the students.
