× ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan tentang penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif Group Investigation (GI) dan Numbered Heads Together (NHT) untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa mata pelajaran IPS Terpadu kelas VIIIG SMP Negeri 4 Sukoharjo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (Classroom Action Research). Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIIG SMP Negeri 4 Sukoharjo tahun pelajaran 2009/2010, sejumlah 32 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini melalui kegiatan berupa: (a) wawancara; (b) observasi; (c) tes prestasi belajar; (d) dokumentasi. Prosedur pelaksanaan tindakan meliputi: (a) perencanaan tindakan; (b) pelaksanaan tindakan; (c) observasi; (d) refleksi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif Group Investigation (GI) dan Numbered Heads Together (NHT) pada materi pokok Sistem Perekonomian Indonesia serta Pembentukan Harga Pasar dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar mapel IPS Terpadu siswa. Prestasi belajar tersebut dinyatakan tuntas karena secara umum pencapaian prestasi belajar siswa berada di atas standar batas tuntas nilai IPS Terpadu yaitu 6,5. Sebelum adanya penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif Group Investigation (GI) dan Numbered Heads Together (NHT) nilai rata-rata kelas siswa adalah 61,75 tetapi setelah penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif Group Investigation (GI) dan Numbered Heads Together (NHT) nilai rata-rata kelas siswa menjadi 75,94 pada siklus I dan 78,22 pada siklus II. Pada siklus I terjadi peningkatan rata-rata kelas sebesar 14,19 point dibandingkan dengan sebelum adanya penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif GI dan NHT, serta semua siswa berhasil mencapai KKM, dengan prosentase 34,375% mendapat nilai tepat pada batas KKM, yaitu 65. Pada siklus II rata-rata siswa menjadi 78,22 atau naik sebesar 2,28 dari siklus I. Semua siswa mencapai KKM dari 75% target yang direncanakan, walaupun masih ada siswa yang mendapat nilat tepat pada batas KKM yaitu 31,25% dari seluruh siswa kelas VIIIG. ABSTRACT The objective of research is to describe the application of group investigation (GI) and numbered heads together (NHT) cooperative learning models to improve the Integrated Social Science Course learning achievement of the VIIIG graders of SMP Negeri 4 Sukoharjo in the School Year of 2009/2010. This study employed a Classroom Action Research. The subject of research was VIIIG graders of SMP Negeri 4 Sukoharjo in the school year of 2009/2010, as many as 32 students. Techniques of collecting data used were: (a) interview; (b) observation; (c) learning achievement test; (d) documentation. The procedure of action implementation included: (a) planning, (b) acting, (c) observing, and (d) reflecting, Considering the result of research, it can be concluded that the application of group investigation (GI) and numbered heads together (NHT) cooperative learning models in the Indonesian Economic System as well as Market Pricing basic material can improve the students’ Integrated Social Science Course learning achievement. Such achievement is said as passing because generally the student’s learning achievement is above the passing limit standard of Integrated Social Science score of 6.5. Before the application of group investigation (GI) and numbered heads together (NHT) cooperative learning models, the students’ mean class value is 61.75 but after the Before the application of group investigation (GI) and numbered heads together (NHT) cooperative learning models it raises into 75.94 in cycle I and 78.22 in cycle II. In Cycle I, there is an increase of 14.19 point in the mean class score compared with it before the application of GI and NHT cooperative learning model, and all students successfully reach KKM with 34.375% obtaining the score exactly at the KKM limit of 65. In Cycle II, the students’ mean rises into 78.22 or raises by 2.28 from cycle I. All students reach KKM from 75% planned target, although there are few students obtaining the score exactly at the KKM limit of 31.25% from all VIIIG graders.
