×Banyuputih village is a small industrial center of tofu-making in the Salatiga city which one of them is owned by Mr. Markiman. The tofu production process and material handling of the factory are done manually by using manpower. In soybean mill and washery subdivision, the workers often do spinning, bowing, and lifting soybean up in a high repeating frequency. Besides, the work activity dominated by standing work position. If this static position is kept in a long time, it will cause a complaint of wrist, arm, back, shoulder, neck, and waist-ache which usually called by MSDs. This research aims to identify and to evaluate the work body position of MMH which has a MSDs risk, so that the researcher design a rehabilitative of work posture using REBA approach.
The collecting of data is done by using field study, Nordic body map questionnaire, and interview to know some complaints of worker sickness. It is also done by measuring the heartbeat to count the loan work of workers. Besides, it is held of work posture appraisal for the workers which include the posture of wrist, forearm, arm, leg, back, and neck, also coupling factor or hand holder using REBA method with Ergointelligence™ software service.This research result is obtained that the count of the loan work for workers considered of the heartbeat or energy consumtion basically include to medium category so it needs to be rehabilitated in order to decrease of worker exhaustion when they work or an injury musculoskeletal risk. From the appraisal of work posture, it is found that 4 work postures categorized in category 3 whose meaning is in dangerous, needs to be rehabilitated immediately. It is also found 2 work postures categorized in category 4 whose meaning is in very dangerous at musculoskeletal system, needs to be rehabilitated here and now. Those are influenced by improper posture (bowing, indenting, bending neck over, arm kept away from the body), repeated activity, the over use of energy and muscles.
From the research, it can be conclude that MMH work posture of workers in soybean mill and washery subdivision need to be surveyed and rehabilitated immediately (emergency). The recommend given by the researcher is to make a working evaluation, to rehabilitate the ways, system, method of working, to cares about uncomfortable case of workers so that they can work with high motivation.
