×Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman matematika
siswa kelas X.7 SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar tahun pelajaran 2011/2012 pada
materi persamaan kuadrat melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI
(Teams Assisted Individualization).
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action
Research)yang dilaksanakan dalam 3 siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahap
yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subyek penelitian adalah
siswa kelas X.7 SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. Data
penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, angket, dan tes. Teknik analisis data adalah
dengan teknik analisis deskriptif.
Indikator keberhasilan pada penelitian ini yaitu setidaknya 75% siswa
telah memahami satu kompetensi dasar dalam materi yang diberikan dengan nilai
≥nilai KKM kompetensi dasar materi tersebut, dalam artian 75% siswa tuntas
belajar dan rata-rata nilai siswa minimal dari nilai KKM.
Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa dengan pelaksanaan tindakan
kelas melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI (Teams Assisted
Individualization) pada materi persamaan kuadrat dapat meningkatkan
pemahaman matematika siswa. Hal ini didasarkan pada hasil tes.
Pada siklus I siswa dikelompokkan secara heterogen berdasarkan
kemampuan akademis dimana setiap kelompok anggotanya memiliki gaya belajar
yang sama, diperoleh rata-rata nilai tes akhir siklus siswa adalah 76,03 dan
prosentase siswa yang memiliki nilai di atas KKM mencapai 61,76%. Pada siklus
II siswa dikelompokkan secara heterogen secara menyeluruh berdasarkan
kemampuan akademis dan gaya belajar, diperoleh rata-rata nilai tes akhir siklus
siswa adalah 91,74 dan prosentase siswa yang memiliki nilai di atas KKM

mengalami peningkatan sebesar 26,48% dari siklus I yaitu mencapai 88,24%.
Pada siklus III kelompok masih sama seperti siklus II, diperoleh rata-rata nilai tes
akhir siklus siswa adalah 94,74 dan prosentase siswa yang memiliki nilai di atas
KKM mengalami peningkatan sebesar 5,88% dari siklus II yaitu mencapai
94,12%.
Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model
pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI (Teams Assisted Individualization) dapat
meningkatkan pemahaman matematika siswa pada materi persamaan kuadrat
kelas X.7 SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar tahun pelajaran 2011/2012.
This study aims to improve the students mathematical comprehension in
class X.7 SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar at the academic year of 2011/2012 on the
quadratic equation material through the use of cooperative learning model type
TAI (Teams Assisted Individualization).
This research is a Classroom Action Research which was carried out in
three cycles. Each cycle consists of four steps: planning, action, observation and
reflection. Subjects of the research are students in class X.7 SMA Negeri 1
Karanganyar at the academic year of 2011/2012. The research data obtained
through observations, questionnaire and test. The technique of analyzing data is a
descriptive analysis technique.
Indicator of succesful in this research is at least 75% students understood
one basic competence on the material with score ≥the score of completeness
minimum criteria of this material, it’s mean that 75% students complete in
studying and the students score average at least from the score of completeness
minimum criteria.
The result of the research describes that the implementation of the
classroom action research through the use of cooperative learning model type TAI
(Teams Assisted Individualization) on the quadratic equation material can improve
the student’s comprehension. This is based on the results of test.
From the result of test in first cycle the students are grouped heterogenly
based academic ability where every group member has same learning style, the
average of student’s final test score is 76.03 and percentage complete of students
is 61.76%. Second cycle the students are group full heterogenly based academic

Based on these results can be concluded that the use of cooperative

students mathematical comprehension on quadratic equation material in class X.7
