× ABSTRAK A characteristic of plant had been make diversity. But simlarity of characterictic can be found in the diversity so relantionship between plant can be discovered. The study began from Desember 2005 to Juli 2006 and was done in 3 areas central production Zingiber purpurei, Curcuma aeruginosa, Curcuma domestica, Curcuma xanthorriza, Kaempferia rotunda, Kaempferia galanga and Kaempferia pandurata : in Kerjo village, Karanganyar ( latosol soil on 350 metres above sea level ), Jumapolo village, Karanganyar ( latosol soil on 450 metres above sea level ) and Belang village, Wonogiri ( vertisol soil on 760 metres above sea level ). This is non experiment study observed 10 plants as samples for each spesies with random sampling method. It observed the plant morphology including stems, leaves, flowers and rhizome. the data obtained are analyzied using Cluster Analysis that is by measuring the similarity level with Average Linkage methods. The result of the data is shown in the form of dendrogram. The similarity level shown in the form of percentage. The study result in dendrogram, which shows that the nearest family relationship of Zingiber purpurei ( bangle ) from Jumapolo with Wonogiri on similarity level 99,88. Curcuma aeruginosa ( temu hitam ) and Kaempferia pandurata ( temu kunci ) is join as them area came from. Curcuma domestica ( kunyit ) from Kerjo join with Jumapolo on level 92,47 but with Belang join on level 81,38. It shows that Curcuma domestica ( kunyit ) from Kerjo have family relantionship nearer Jumapolo than Belang. Curcuma xanthorriza ( temulawak ) from Kerjo join with Belang on simlarity level 98,15 but with Jumapolo on level 96,80. Kaempferia galanga ( kencur ) from Kerjo join with Belang on level 99,66 but with Jumapolo join on level 99,64. It shows that Curcuma xanthorriza ( temulawak ) and Kaempferia galanga ( kencur ) from Kerjo have family relantionship nearer Belang than Jumapolo. Kaempferia rotunda ( kunci pepet ) from Kerjo join with Belang, the nearest family relationship has been on level 98,45. Keyword : morphological variety, relationship and Zingiberaceae family
