×The purpose of this research is to get the description of: (1) the correlation
of students 'personality with English achievement of the students of SMK
Pancasila Surakarta at the class of XI (2) the correlation of students' creativity
with English achievement of the students of SMK Pancasila Surakarta at the class
of XI, (3) the correlation of students' personality and students' creativity
simultaneously with English achievement of the students of SMK Pancasila
Surakarta at the class of
This research is a correlational research. It involves three variables that
consist of two independent variables and one dependent variable. The two
independent variables are the student's personality and student's creativity; while
the one dependent variable is the English achievement. This research population is
a class XI student of Automotive and Engineering Department of SMK Pancasila
Surakarta. The research population consists of 196 students with a sample size of
132 students. Sampling technique that used is proportional random sampling. The
research instruments used for data collection are questionnaires, and
documentation. The questionnaires is used to measure the personality and
creativity variables. The questionnaire is in the form of Likert scale with five
scales. The documentation is used to obtain the scores of English achievement.
Documentation is from the achievement data of students. The calculations of
Questionnaire validity and reliability are using Iteman Program. Questionnaire to
measure the personality variables are declared valid. It is indicated by the mean
price of the item-total for 0.320> 0.25. Questionnaire to measure the creativity
variables are also declared valid. It is indicated by the mean price of the item-total
for 0.401> 0.25. Meanwhile, a questionnaire to measure the Personality Variables
are declared reliable. It is indicated by alpha price for 0.737. Questionnaire to
measure the creativity variables are declared reliable. It is indicated by alpha price
for 0.760. The data are analysed by using partial correlation and multiple
regression statistic.
The results of the research showed that (1) There is positive and
significant correlation of students 'personality with English achievement of the
students of SMK Pancasila Surakarta at the class of XI, (2) There is a positive and
significant correlation of students' creativity with English achievement of the
students of SMK Pancasila Surakarta at the class of XI, (3) There are positive and
significant correlation of students' personality and students' creativity
simultaneously with English achievement of the students of SMK Pancasila
Surakarta at the class of XI.
