Abstrak : The purpose of this research is expected to give information to the readers about the system of granting Kredit Agunan Rumah (KAR) that’s applied to the PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, branch office Universitas Sebelas Maret and what their strength and weaknesses are. The step of this research is done by comparing between theory with actual practice in the field. The procedure of granting Kredit Agunan Rumah (KAR) that’s applied to the PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, branch office Universitas Sebelas Maret which is apply the principles of prudence and 5C principle in granting credit appropriathe with theory in the book. The result of the research is aware of the strengths and weaknesses in the system of granting Kredit Agunan Rumah (KAR) that’s applied to the PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, branch office Universitas Sebelas Maret. Some of the advantages found in system granting credit is the use of computerized system in service to its customers, is considered to be more efficient. From even this research is also found some weaknesses that occur, such as the absence of documents flowchart for turnaround. The conclution of this research is the system of Kredit Agunan Rumah (KAR) that’s applied to the PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, branch office Universitas Sebelas Maret good in general because credit involves a Branch Manager and credit decision making based on the opinion of the Kelompok Pemutus Kredit (KPK) for assessing the suitability of granting credit to potential debitor. Based on the result of research, the researcher give some suggestion, which is: 1) Bank BTN should augment employes in Loan Service for increase credit service, 2) Bank BTN should make flowchart for facilitate and to know circulation of document.
