English Diploma Program, Faculty of Letters and Fine Arts, Sebelas Maret University. This final project report entitles “The Teaching Learning English Activities of the Fifth Grade Students in SD N 2 Ceporan, Gantiwarno, Klaten”. This report is written based on the job training that has been done in SD N 2 Ceporan. It discussed about the English learning activity in this school. There are several steps in the English teaching learning, namely: warming up, presentation, and evaluation. In the warming up, the teacher makes the students interested in the lesson. Brainstorming was needed to attract the student’s attention. The next step is presentation; at this stage the teacher presents the new materials. Sometimes, to get the attention of the students and to make the class fun, the teacher also used games. And the last step is evaluation; in this stage the teacher gives many exercises, test and also homework to know how far the students understand the lesson. English teaching learning activities in the SD N 2 Ceporan have some problems. There are the uncooperative students and the mother tongue interference in English learning activity for students’ problems; using the monotonous teaching for teachers’ problem; and pronunciation and vocabulary for the materials’ problem. Besides, there are some solutions to solve the problems in teaching learning activities. They consist of: the solution for students problems are by giving a punishment and special attention, repeating to say and explaining the words again, giving the opportunity to practise and to develop their English skill; besides the solution for the teacher problem are by having the handbook to mix materials and having the several ways to make the interesting material for the students; and the solution for the materials’ problem are by giving them motivation and engaging them so they will be interested in learning English.
