× Background : PT. INKA (Persero) Madiun is one of the companies belonging to the heavy equipment industry which is engaged in the manufacture of railroad. Part workmanship is a lot of work done by plate welding field that has a high enough risk. Employees who work in this area needs special attention, because if employees do not use personal protective equipment can pose a danger to the employee. Employees at PT. INKA (Persero) Madiun still has a lack of awareness of the importance of personal protective equipment when welding. Methods: This study used a quasi ekseperimen method using the approach of one group pretest posttest design. At PT. INKA (Persero) Madiun .The sampling technique used was a saturated sampling. The object of the study sample were 30. Retrieval of data by using the questionnaire to determine the characteristics of the respondents. Processing techniques and data analysis was done with McNemar statistical test using the computer program SPSS version 16. Results: From the analysis of the McNemar statistical test known value of p is 0.000. The value which means that the p-value <0:01 then the test results revealed highly significant. Conclusion: There is a safety talk influence on the level of knowledge of the use of personal protective equipment In Employee Section Welding in PT. INKA (Persero) Madiun. For more research needs assessment of the other factors that affect the employee's knowledge of PPE in the workplace. Keywords: Safety talk, use of APD Knowledge Level
