× This final project report is written based on the job training activities done from February until April, 2013. The objectives of this final project report are to describe the activities in English teaching and learning for the fifth grade, to identify the difficulties or problems in English teaching and learning and to find out the solutions to solve the problems. There are some steps in the activity of English teaching and learning, namely : warming up, explanation, practice and assesment. During the job training activities the writer faced some problems, such as the problems of the students in lacking of self confidence, pronouncing and writing English words. The other problems came from the writer are handling the students, lacking of time and additional materials. However, there are some solutions to solve the problems by giving a positive punishment, repeating the correct pronounciation, motivating the students, and understanding the characteristics of the student. The suggestion to SDN Tumenggungan 28 Surakarta are providing the proper materials and adding the audio visual facilities. Meanwhile, the other suggestion for English Diploma Program is giving more instructions and preparations to the students before doing the job training and adding more references about teaching in SLC.
