× This final project report was written based on the job training as an English Teacher in Elementary School Pangudi Luhur, Surakarta, started from February 6th2012 to March 17th, 2012. The objectives of this report are to describe the process of teaching speaking by using gamesand to find out the problems and solutions of teaching speaking by using games. The process of teaching speaking to the fifth grade students of Pangudi Luhur Elementary School consisted of four steps based on the lesson. Those steps are opening, warming up, modelling, and closing. In teaching English speaking, games are applied as the technique of teaching. The games applied were “searching pair”, which was categorized as connecting game. Based on the experience, the problems come up during the teaching speaking by using games to the fifth grade students of Elementary School Pangudi Luhur Surakarta. The problems were class management, lack of motivations, and students’ mispronunciation. The solutions to overcome those problems: Iapplied some rules to manage the class, such as ordering the noisy students to stand in front of class to motivate student’s friends to obey the rules; I did the repetition to train certain studentswho pronouncedword wrongly.
