× This final project report was written based on the job training in Public Relations Division of Sukoharjo Local Government for the periodof February 25th – April 25th, 2013. The objectives of this final report are to describe and evaluate the existing communication strategies done by Sukoharjo Government Public Relations Division and to propose communication strategies plan in order to improve Sukoharjo Government Public Relations Division’s strategies in socializing Central Java Election 2013 at Sukoharjo Regency. The writer found that there were some media used by Sukoharjo Public Relations Division in which each of them had strength and weaknesses. i.e: Radio and Television programs actually had wide audience coverage, but unfortunately those two programs had low listener and viewer. Baliho took a lot of cost and was considered not really effective. There was a lack of human resources needed to deliver oral presentation however this media was considered effective because the information was directly delivered to the public. Moving broadcasting did not have wide coverage and website was not accessible for people having lack of IT. The writer proposes some problem solutions and two additional media that might be used to improve the communication strategies of Sukoharjo Public Relations Division in socializing the programs. i.e: there should be an entertainment content, such as quiz and live music show, in the programs of radio and television. The cost of ineffective media like Baliho is better allocated to another media. There should be recruitement of volunteers to deliver oral presentations and the moving broadcasting should be focused on the suburbs. The writer also proposes two additional media as the communication strategies. Those medias are leaflet and regional event. Hopefully, this final report can be beneficial for the readers, especially those who are interested in Public Relations field.
