× This final project report was written based on the job training done by the writer as an English teacher in MIM Dimoro Sukoharjo. The objectives were to explain the process of teaching reading, and to find out the problems and the solutions faced by the teacher and the students during the teaching and learning process. During the job training, the writer did class observations. The writer observed the condition and the facilities of the class, the way of the English teacher in delivering the material to the students and the characteristics of students. The activities of teaching reading to the 5th grade students of MIM Dimoro Sukoharjo consist of some steps, they are: building knowledge of field (BKOF), explaining lesson matter, joint construction, individual construction, and closing. There were some problems encountered by the students and the teacher. The problems of the students did not understand the meaning, pronouncing of the words, writing English word. To solve the problems, the writer explained the material slowly and briefly by using communicative approach effectively, gave more explanation and examples about the material. The problems of the teacher were limited time and limited material of teaching. To overcome these problems, the writer always made the lesson plan before teaching and created additional materials for students.
