×This Research Is Aimed To Explain How Masculine Stereotype, Which Has Been Culturally Symbolized And Exploited In Wrangler Jeans’ Advertisements From 1990’s To 2000’s, Becomes The Reflection Of The Social Condition In America. This Research Is Intended To Find Out How Wrangler Jeans Respond To Men’s Societal Status In Current Time. This Research Is A Qualitative Research Which Uses Nine Sources Of Data I.E.: Adaptcreative.Co.Uk, Coloribus.Com, Davewilsoncreative.Com, Devinitivetouch.Com, Drydales.Com, Ebay.Com, I-Ebaying.Com, Pzrservices.Typepad.Com, And Vintageadbrowser.Com Where The Series Of Advertisements Are Found. The Primary Data Are Images, Expressions, Colors, Gaze, Gestures, Words, Sentences And All The Photographic Elements On The Advertisements. The Secondary Data Such As: Books, Articles, And Journals Are Used To Support The Primary Data. This Research Is Conducted Under The Frame-Work Of American Studies. As Consequence, This Research Employs Interdisciplinary Study Which Needs Several Theories And Approaches Such As Semiotics, Gender Perspective, Socio- Historical Approach And Socio-Cultural Approach To Answer The Research Question.
The Result Shows That 1990’s To 2000’s Became The Significant Years Of Change For Men Role In Public Spheres. Wrangler Is A Masculine Jeans Fashion Brand Whose Image Is Associated With American Mid-West Traditional Values; Cowboy. In Fact, Wrangler Advertisements Employ Various Masculine Representations, E.G: Rough, Rebels, Sport Men, Musicians And Metrosexuals. Wrangler Jeans’ Advertisements Tried To Empower And Bring Back Men’s Traditional Role. Moreover, Wrangler Used Hegemonic Masculinity In The Advertisements To Impose The Society With Its Traditional Concept Of Masculinity.
