× This final project report was written based on the job training which was done in Gedung Wayang Orang Sriwedari and DISBUDPAR of Surakarta for two month and a half, starting from March 1,2011 and until May 13,2011. This final project report discusses the problems faced by Gedung Wayang Orang Sriwedari Surakarta in attracting tourists. The result shows that the problems of Gedung Wayang Orang Sriwedari Surakarta in attracting tourists are the limited promotion, unprofessional management and staffs, the limited supporting infrastructure and the lack of training before performing. As the result of doing job training in Gedung Wayang Orang Sriwedari, the writer gives some suggestions to reduce the problems of Gedung Wayang Orang Sriwedari in attracting tourists. To solve the limited promotion, Gedung Wayang Orang Sriwedari should try to provide more stocks on the brochures and leaflets, and it also does some more promotion. Unprofessional management and staffs might be reduced by tightening the selection for new staff and conducting disciplinary among the existing staffs. The lack of supporting infrastructure should be solved by repairing, rebuilding and renewing the supporting infrastructure and accommodation. The lack of training might be prevented by the puppet’s playes. They should do and create some training before the show regularly.
