× Propylene Oxide is one of the intermediate compounds that are widely used in various chemical industries nowadays, the use of propylene oxide as an intermediate compound in the industry including the manufacture of Flexible Foams, Monopropylene Glycol, Polyurethane, Polyester, and Polyglycols. Propylene Oxide plant with a capacity of 50,000 tons / year, it fills the needs of the domestic and the export opportunities are still open, The factory is planned to stand in an industrial area in Cilegon, Banten, in 2017. Factory built on land with an area of 30,000 m2. Site selection is based on considerations of propylene feedstock supply, marketing, transportation, labor, and the availability of other means of support. The factory operates 24 hours per day, and 330 days per year with a one-month shut down time. Propylene Oxide and Propylene made of Tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) with Molybdenum trioxide catalyst at a temperature of 90-113 ° C and a pressure of 40 atm in a single reactor beds with non-isothermal adiabatic conditions. The raw materials required are propylene and Tert-butyl hydroperoxide. Conversion of 99% for this reaction. Propylene Oxide Reaction formation takes place in the exothermic heat of reaction but it isn’t big so it doesn’t need refrigeration. Stage of the process includes the step of storage of raw materials, raw material preparation stage Propylene Tert-butyl hydroperoxide and, in the establishment phase Propylene Single bed reactor, separation of materials in the flash drum, and product purification stage in the distillation tower. The resulting product is Propylene Oxide with a purity of 99% and Tert-butyl Alcohol 98%. Plant process support unit includes a water supply unit (process water, cooling water feed, boiler feed water, public consumption and sanitation) are sourced from PT. KTI as 714,204.240 kg / hour, as much steam 8813.484 kg / day, as many as 28.730 m3 of compressed air, amounting to 258.38 kW of electric power, and fuel as much as 20791.76 L / month. The factory also supported laboratory quality control of raw materials, products, water, and sewage treatment. The type of company is chosen as Private Limited with line and staff organizational structure. The system is based on the division of employee working hours which consists of employees shift and non-shift. Total labor requirements as much as 151 people. Economic analysis of the results obtained from the ROI (Return on Investment) before and after tax of 49.79% and 45.78%, POT (Pay Out Time) before and after tax for 1.72 years and 1.85 years, BEP (Break Even Point) 44.42%, and SDP (Shut Down Point) 22.18%. While DCF (Discounted Cash Flow) of 20.18%. Based on the results of the above evaluation, the plant Propylene Oxide from Propylene and tert-butyl hydroperoxide with a capacity of 50,000 tons / year is considered feasible due to meet the standards established requirements for the establishment of a factory.
