Teaching English To The Fifth Grade In Sdit Nurul Istiqlal Wonosari

× This final project is written based on the job training activity done by the writer as an English teacher in SDIT NurulIstiqlalWonosari from January until March 2014. The objectives are to describe the English teaching and learning process of the fifth grade in SDIT NurulIstiqlal, to identify problems in English teaching and learning process and to find out the solution of the problems. In English teaching and learning process, there are some activities done by the writer, such as: greeting, warming up, presentation, practice, assessment, and closing. The writer gets some problems during the job training. The problems come not only from the student but also from the writer. The problems faced by the student are writing English and pronouncing English. Meanwhile, the problems faced by the writer as an English teacher are uncooperative student and lacking of handbook and students worksheet. However, the writer has some solutions to solve the problems. Such as asking the student to enrich their vocabulary and increasing their understanding of the grammar, repeating the correct pronunciation and reminds the student if they make mistake in pronouncing the word, using interesting technique in delivering the material, taking and combining material from many handbooks. There are some suggestions given by the writer to SDIT NurulIstiqlal and the English teacher of the school. The suggestions to SDIT NurulIstiqlal are the school should increase the facilities to support the teaching and learning process better. Meanwhile, the suggestion for the English teacher is she should delivers the material bilingually, in English and Indonesian language during the teaching and learning English process, use interesting techniques in delivering the material.
