× The Purposes Underlying This Study Are To Describe An English Textbook Entitled “Passport To The World 1” In General And To Analyze The Quality Of English Textbook Entitled “Passport To The World 1” In Developing Communicative Tasks And Types Of Communicative Materials. This Research Is A Descriptive Method, Which Refers To Content Analysis Or Documentary Analysis. It Was Conducted In March 2013. The Data Source Of This Research Is The Textbook For Seventh Grade Of Junior High School, “Passport To The World 1”, Written By Djatmika, Agus Dwi Priyanto, And Ida Kusuma Dewi, Published In 2009 By Pt Tiga Serangkai Pustaka Mandiri. In Collecting Data, This Study Takes Four Of Ten Units In The Textbook Randomly. The Study Uses Theory Of Cunningsworth (1995) To Analyze The Textbook In General. The Study Also Uses Johnson (1982), Richards And Rodgers (1998), Harmer (1997), Nunan(1989), Diane Larsen And Freeman (2000) To Analyze The Tasks And Material Of The Textbook. The Result Of The Study Shows The Percentage Of The Textbook In General Is 62.5 %. It Means That The Textbook Is Fairly Good In General. The Percentage Of Communicative Tasks Is 68.7%. It Means That The Quality Of “Passport To The World 1” Is Good In Developing The Communicative Tasks. The Result Of The Study Also Shows That The Percentage Of Types Of Material In Clt Is 75.03%. It Means That The Quality Of “Passport To The World 1” Is Very Good In Developing The Types Of Clt Materials As Applied In This Study. The Result Of The Study Implies That The Textbook Has All Criteria Of Communicative Tasks And Materials. It Means That The Textbook Is Appropriate To Be Used To Teach English In Junior High School, It Will Be Better If The Teacher Also Completes It By Using Other Sources. Because Every Unit Of The Textbook Does Not Have All Criteria.
