Kata kunci: C-reactive protein, apolipoprotein B, diabetes melitus tipe 2, hipertensiABSTRACTBackground: Type 2 DM with hypertension is a chronic inflammatory disease and often occurs with dyslipidemia as a risk of atherosclerosis. Apolipoprotein B is a marker of atherogenic dyslipidemia and a better predictor of cardiovascular risk than LDL and non-HDL cholesterol. The aim of this study is to determine whether there is a correlation between CRP and apo B in type 2 DM with hypertension.Method: This study was a quantitative non-experimental observational analytic design through a cross-sectional approach. Population of this study were 44 type 2 DM with hypertension, internal medicine outpatients unit, Dr.Moewardi hospital in March 2015. Variable research was CRP and apo B. CRP and apo B were measured with immunoturbidimetry method. Correlation variables were analyzed with the Spearman correlation, with p < 0,05 considered as statistically significant. Results: The mean level of the CRP is 1,18 mg/dl and apo B is 110 mg/dl. The correlation coefficient between CRP and apo B is 0,75 with p < 0,05.Conclusions: There is a correlation between CRP and apo B in type 2 DM with hypertension.Keyword: C-reactive protein, apolipoprotein B, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension
