ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi minat mahasiswa menjadi volunteer pendidikan di Solo Mengajar. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan motivasi fungsional antara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survey sampel. Aspek kajian dari metode penelitian menunjukkan bahwa survei bersifat explanatory. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa seluruh universitas yang tergabung menjadi volunteer di Solo Mengajar sebanyak 140 mahasiswa. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 59 mahasiswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah proportionate random sampling dan simple random sampling dengan cara undian. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer yang diperoleh dari pengumpulan data langsung oleh responden. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuesioner dengan skala likert. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil uji persyaratan analisis SEM PLS dalam penelitian menunjukkan bahwa uji validitas konvergen dari tujuh konstruk reflektif terpenuhi dengan faktor loading diatas 0,7 dan AVE>0,5. Uji validitas diskriminan dalam penelitian ini juga terpenuhi karena akar AVE masing-masing konstruk lebih tinggi dari nilai korelasi konstruk tersebut dengan konstruk lainnya. Uji reliabilitas dalam penelitian ini terpenuhi karena nilai composite reliability>0,7. Nilai R-Square untuk variabel minat mahasiswa menjadi volunteer yakni sebesar 0,499 yang berarti variabilitas minat mahasiswa menjadi volunteer dapat dijelaskan oleh variabel motivasi fungsional value, understanding, sosial, karir, protective, peningkatan, sebesar 49,9%, dan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian uji validitas dan reliabilitas dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) fungsi motivasi value memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa menjadi volunteer dengan nilai t value 2,085>1,96. (2) fungsi motivasi understanding memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa menjadi volunteer dengan nilai t value 3,115>1,96. (3) fungsi motivasi sosial memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa menjadi volunteer dengan nilai t value 2,836>1,96. (4) fungsi motivasi karir memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa menjadi volunteer dengan nilai t value 2,413>1,96. (5) fungsi motivasi protective memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa menjadi volunteer dengan nilai t value 2,606>1,96. (6) fungsi motivasi peningkatan memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa menjadi volunteer dengan nilai t value 2,789>1,96. Hasil penelitian diatas, diujikan kembali dengan memasukkan variabel moderasi jenis kelamin pada motivasi fungsional dan diperoleh hasil sebagai berikut: (1) Hasil analisis t-statistik menunjukkan bahwa jenis kelamin memiliki hasil signifikan dengan tingkat kesalahan 1% pada fungsi motivasi understanding terhadap minat mahasiswa menjadi volunteer. Hal ini menjelaskan bahwa terdapat perbedaan motivasi antara laki-laki dan perempuan dalam hal memahami diri mereka dan tujuan yang akan mereka capai. (2) Hasil analisis t-statistik menunjukkan bahwa jenis kelamin memiliki hasil yang signifikan dengan tingkat kesalahan 1% pada fungsi motivasi protective terhadap minat mahasiswa menjadi volunteer. Hal ini menjelaskan bahwa terdapat perbedaan motivasi antara laki-laki dan perempuan dalam hal mempertahankan ego dan mengurangi dampak negatif terkait dengan rasa bersalah karena lebih beruntung daripada yang lain. Kata kunci: Motivasi fungsional, volunteer, minat, jenis kelamin, dan Structural Equation Model ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to find out the influencing factors of the students’ interest to be a volunteers in education field at Solo Mengajar. Besides, this research is also aimed to find out the difference between functional motivation of men and women. This research belongs to quantitative research with sample survey as the method to conduct the research. The aspect of this study from the research method shows that the survey is in the category of explanatory. The population is all university students that join volunteerism in Solo Mengajar as much as 140 students with 59 students as the total sample. The sampling methods used in this research are proportionate random sampling and simple random sampling with lottery. The data is in primary data as they are collected directly from the respondents. The technique of data collection is by distributing questionnaire with likert scale. The data analysis technique is Partial Least Square (PLS). The result of test requirement analysis of SEM PLS in this research shows that the convergent validity test from seven reflective constructs are fulfilled with loading factor above 0.7 and AVE>0.5. Discriminant validity test in this research is also fulfilled as the AVE root of each construct is higher than its correlation value compared to other constructs. The reliability test in this research is fulfilled because the reliability composite value is > 0.7. The R-Square score for the variabel of students’ interest to be volunteer is 0.499 which means the variability of students’ interest to be a volunteer can be explained by the variables of functional motivation, value, understanding, social, career, protective, enhancement, about 49,9% and the rest are influenced by other variables. Based on the result of reliability and validity test, it can be concluded that: (1) value functional motivation has positive and significant correlations to the college students’ interest to be volunteers with the value of t value 2,085>1,96; (2) understanding functional motivation has positive and significant correlations to the college students’ interest to be volunteers with the value of t value 3,115>1,96; (3) social functional motivation has positive and significant correlations the college students’ interest to be volunteers with the value of t value 2,836>1,96; (4) career functional motivation has positive and significant correlations to the college students’ interest to be volunteers with the value of t value 2,413>1,96; (5) protective functional motivation has positive and significant correlations the college students’ interest to be volunteers with the value of t value 2,606>1,96; (6) enhancement functional motivation functional motivation has positive and significant correlations the college students’ interest to be volunteers with the value of value t 2,789>1,96. The results of the research above are re-examined by adding gender moderation as the variable on the functional motivation, where the results show: (1) the result of t-statistic analysis shows that gender give a significant results with 1% level of error on understanding functional motivation to the students’ interest to be volunteers. It explains that there is a differences motivation between men and women on understanding themselves with their purpose; (2) the result of t-statistic analysis shows that gender gives significant result with 1% level of error on protective functional motivation to the students’ interest to be volunteers. This explains that there is a differences motivation between men and women on the aspect of defending their ego and decreasing the negative impact of the guilt on thinking that they are luckier than others.
