Abstrak
Latar Belakang
Asam urat merupakan antioksidan alami yang bekerja mencegah kerusakan sel. Pada saat stress oksidatif meningkat maka terjadi penurunan anti oksidan meningkatkan resiko penyakit kardiovaskular dan penurunan fungsi kognitif. Hubungan antara asam urat dengan Mild Cognitive Impairment, didasari oleh dua mekanisme penting yaitu gangguan pada pembuluh darah dan stres oksidatif. Pemeriksaan sederhana, murah serta efektif.
Tujuan Penelitian
Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan antara kadar asam urat sebagai produk metabolisme purin dengan penurunan fungsi kognitif pada geriatri.
Metode
Penelitian cross sectional mengunakan sampel 161 subyek dengan metode purposive sampling. Mild Cognitive Impairment di tetapkan berdasarkan skrining pemeriksaan Mini Mental State Examination, dan asam urat diukur dengan stik. Analisa data menggunakan Chi Square dengan program SPSS dengan signifikan p < 0,05.
Hasil Penelitian
Hubungan asam urat dengan Mild Cognitive Impairment signifikan dengan nilai p = 0,027, asam urat > 6mg/dl akan menaikkan nilai Mini Mental State Examination dengan nilai R square = 0.027 (2,7%) dan asam urat berbanding terbalik (pengaruh bersifat negatif) terhadap kejadian MCI dengan nilai B:-0.163 yang dihasilkan melalui analisis uji T dengan nilai P=0.038.
Kesimpulan
Hubungan asam urat dengan kejadian Mild Cognitive Impairment pada pasien geriatri signifikan, dimana peningkatan asam urat akan menurunkan kejadian Mild Cognitive Impairment.

Background
Uric acid is a natural antioxidant that works to prevent cell damage. At the time of oxidative stress increases, a decline in anti-oxidants increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and cognitive decline. The relationship between uric acid with Mild Cognitive Impairment, based on two important mechanisms that vascular disorders and oxidative stress. This examination simple, cheap and effective.
Research Purposes
This study aims to determine the relationship between uric acid levels as a product of purine metabolism with decreased cognitive function in the elderly.
Method
Cross-sectional study using a sample of 161 subjects with purposive sampling method. Mild Cognitive Impairment in screening examinations set by the Mini Mental State Examination, and uric acid were measured with a stick. Data were analyzed using Chi Square with SPSS with significant p < 0.05.
Research Result
Relationship of uric acid with Mild Cognitive Impairment significant with p = 0.027, uric acid > 6 mg/dl would raise the value of the Mini Mental State Examination with the value of R square = 0.027 (2.7%) and uric acid is inversely related (negative effect) against MCI events with B : -0163 generated through analysis of T test with P = 0.038.
Conclusion
Relationship of uric acid with Mild Cognitive Impairment events in geriatric patients significantly, which increased uric acid will reduce the incidence of Mild Cognitive Impairment.
