ABSTRACTThe purposes of this research are (1) to analyze whether When English Rings a Bell has applied scientific approach of 2013 Curriculum or not, and (2) to investigate to what extent When English Rings a Bell has applied the scientific approach based on 2013 Curriculum. The subject of the research is an English textbook for junior high school students of VII, When English Rings a Bell (WERB 7S). The research design which is used is descriptive qualitative research. The researcher uses document in the form of textbook of WERB 7S as the data collection. The technique of analyzing data is by using the theory proposed by Elliot and Timulak which comprises: data preparation, delineating and processing meaning units, finding an overall organizing structure for the data, generation of categories, and abstracting the main findings. Analyzed based on the compatibility of scientific approach stages of 2013 Curriculum which comprises of: observing, questioning, experimenting, associating,  and communicating, the findings of the research are: Chapter I gains40 %, Chapter III achieves80%, Chapter IV gets40 %, and Chapter IX is 100 %. The conclusion of this research is that WERB 7S has applied the scientific approach. The compatibility of scientific approach in WERB 7Sis 65 %. Therefore, based on the percentage classification proposed by Arikunto (1993), WERB 7S achieves the level ‘Good’.Key Words: WERB 7S, scientific approach, descriptive qualitative
