ABSTRAK
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep gaya magnet dengan menggunakan media KIT IPA pada peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri Mangkubumen Kulon No 83 Laweyan Surakarta Tahun Pelajaran 2014/2015.
Bentuk penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) sebanyak dua siklus dan tiap siklus berlangsung selama dua pertemuan. Tiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru dan peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri Mangkubumen Kulon No 83 Laweyan Surakarta Tahun Pelajaran 2014/2015 yang berjumlah 20 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi, observasi, wawancara dan tes. Uji validitas menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan validitas isi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalh model analisis interaktif (Miles&Huberman) yang terdiri dari tiga komponen yaitu reduksi data, sajian data dan penarikan simpulan (verifikasi).
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep peserta didik tentang konsep gaya magnet meningkat, hal itu terlihat dari nilai setiap siklus yaitu nilai rata-rata sebelum tindakan (prasiklus) 65, pada siklus I nilai rata-rata menjadi 71,5, dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 82,12. Sebelum dilaksanakan tindakan (prasiklus), peserta didik yang memperoleh nilai di atas KKM (>70) sebanyak 8 peserta didik (40%), siklus I yang tuntas sebanyak 12 peserta didik (60%), dan pada siklus II yang tuntas sebanyak 19 peserta didik (95%).
Berdasarkan data tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media KIT IPA dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep gaya magnet pada peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri Mangkubumen Kulon No 83 Laweyan Surakarta Tahun Pelajaran 2014/2015.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research is to improve concept understanding of magnet force by applying science KIT Media on the fifth grade students of Mangkubumen Kulon 83 Elementary School Laweyan Surakarta in Academic Year of 2014/2015.
The type of this research is classroom action research (CAR), it consists of 2 cycles and each cycle was held in two-times learning. Each cycle consists of four phases, they are planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of this research are the teacher and the fifth grade students of Mangkubumen Kulon 83 Elementary School in Academic Year of 2014/2015, which consists of 20 students. The data collecting techniques are documentation, observation, interview, and test. The data validity is examined by using source triangulation and data content validity. The data analysis technique is interactive analytic model (Miles&Huberman) which consists of three elements, they are data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing (verification).
The result of this research shows the improvement of students concept understanding of magnet force, it is shown by the grades of each cycle, the average grade before the action (pre cycle) was 65, in the first cycle the average grade increased to 71,5, and in the second cycle the average grade increased to 82,12. Before the action was held (pre-cycle), the students who acquired passing grade (>70) were 8 students (40%), in the first cycle the students who passed were 12 students (60%), and in the second cycle the number of students who acquired passing grade increased to 19 students (95%).
Based on the data, it can be concluded that the application of science KIT Media can improve the concept understanding of magnet force on the fifth grade students of Mangkubumen Kulon 83 Elementary Scool at Academic Years of 2014/2015.
