<xml> 800x600 </xml><![endif]-->Nowadays the development is conducted vigorously by Indonesia. Buildings are one manifestation of Surakarta government’s attempt of improving the society welfare. In a building, material is the important component in determining the cost of project, and reinforcement is one of material governed adequately and very important to bony concrete or concrete beam. For that reason, there should be a research on waste of a construction project. The objective of research was to get the bar bending schedule method that can be used to optimize boning in bony concrete thereby providing as low as possible waste. The research was taken place in Local Secretariat building of Surakarta City in 2010. The secondary data used was data of reinforcement in the form of Bar Bending Schedule. Sekarang pembangunan sedang giat dilaksanakan oleh bangsa Indonesia. Gedung-gedung adalah salah satu bentuk wujud dari pemerintah Surakarta untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan bagi masyarakat. Dalam sebuah gedung , material merupakan komponen yang penting dalam menentukan besarnya biaya suatu proyek dan besi tulangan adalah salah satu material yang cukup sudah di atur dan sangat penting dalam pekerjaan beton bertulang maupun pekerjaan balok. Sehingga perlu untuk diteliti waste pada sebuah proyek konstruksi.Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan metode bar bending schedule yang dapat digunakan  untuk mengoptimasi penulangan pada balok bertulang sehingga dihasilkan waste yang sekecil mungkin.

Lokasi penelitian ini dilakukan pada gedung Sekretariat Daerah Kota Surakarta, pada tahun 2010. Data sekunder yang digunakan adalah data besi tulangan dalam bentuk Bar Bending Schedule. Untuk pengolahan data ini mengunakan bantuan program komputer Excel Solver dan Programman Linear (PL).
