ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bahwa: (1) penerapan model project based learning dapat meningkatkan sikap ilmiah siswa kelas XI MIA 5 SMA Negeri 3 pada materi Pemanasan Global, (2) penerapan model project based learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif Fisika siswa kelas XI MIA 5 SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta pada materi Pemanasan Global.
Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (Classroom Action Research) dengan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart, serta model kolaboratif yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus diawali dengan tahap persiapan dan dilanjutkan dengan tahap pelaksanaan siklus yang terdiri atas perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI MIA 5 SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta Tahun Ajaran 2014/2015 sebanyak 32 siswa. Data diperoleh melalui kajian dokumen, tes tertulis, observasi, kuesioner atau angket, dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis data deskriptif kualitatif.
Berdasarkan analisis data dan pembahasan dalam penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) penerapan model project based learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan sikap ilmiah siswa kelas XI MIA 5 SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta pada materi Pemanasan Global. Hal ini dilihat pada Siklus I hanya ada satu aspek sikap ilmiah yang mencapai target lebih dari 40 % siswa berkriteria sangat baik yaitu aspek respek terhadap data/ fakta, mengalami peningkatan pada Siklus II menjadi setiap aspek sikap ilmiah mencapai lebih dari 40 % siswa berkriteria sangat baik, (2) penerapan model project based learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif Fisika siswa kelas XI MIA 5 SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta pada materi Pemanasan Global. Pada Siklus I menunjukkan ketuntasan siswa sebesar 57 %, pada Siklus II mengalami peningkatan menjadi 84 %.

ABSTRACT
This research aims to improve: (1) student’s scientific attitude in class XI MIA 5 SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta through the application of project based learning on global warming subject, (2) cognitive ability in class XI MIA SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta through the application of project based learning on global warming subject. This research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR). It has been held in two cycles with Kemmis & Mc. Taggart, and collaborative model. Each cycle began with preparation stage and then it was continued to implementation phase that consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subject was XI MIA 5 students of SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta on Academic Year 2014/2015 as many as 32 students. The data was collected through document review, test, observation, questionnaire, and interview to the teacher and students. The techniques of data analysis used was descriptive qualitative analysis. Based on the study and data analysis of this research, it can be concluded that (1) application of project based learning could improve student’s scientific attitude on global warming subject. It can be seen from cycle I that there was just one aspect that more than 40 % students got very good category that wa the aspect of respect to the data/fact, in the second cycle the improvement percentage of student’s scientific attitude for each aspect was more than 40% students got very good category, (2) the application of project based learning could improve student’s cognitive ability in class XI MIA 5 SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta on global warming subject. In the first cycle the students who reached the passing grade were 57 %, and in the second cycle it increased to 84 %.
