ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan : (1) gambaran kondisisekolah dalam pelaksanaan prakerin pada program keahlian Teknik Mesin; (2)persiapan yang dilakukan sekolah dalam pelaksanaan prakerin pada programkeahlian Teknik Mesin; (3) kualitas pelaksanaan prakerin pada program keahlianTeknik Mesin; (4) faktor-faktor yang mendukung pelaksanaan prakerin padaprogram keahlian Teknik Mesin; (5) manfaat prakerin pada program keahlianTeknik Mesin.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta. Penelitian inimenggunakan metode penelitian dekriptif evaluatif model CIPP (Context, Input,Process, dan Product). Sampel penelitian ini diambil dengan teknik purposivesampling yaitu 18 guru program keahlian Teknik Mesin, 95 siswa kelas XIIprogram keahlian Teknik Mesin, dan 3 Dunia Usaha/ Industri (DUDI). Teknikpengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Validitas butirkuesioner yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah validitas logika. Teknikanalisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini melalui analisis perhitungan nilairata-rata.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) kondisi SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta dalamrangka penyiapan siswa untuk melakukan prakerin terkondisikan dengan sangatbaik, (2) penyiapan pelaksanaan prakerin program keahlian Teknik Mesin yangdilakukan pihak SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta sudah sangat baik, (3) kualitaspelaksanaan prakerin program keahlian Teknik Mesin di SMK Negeri 2 Surakartatergolong sangat baik, (4) faktor-faktor yang mendukung pelaksanaan prakerinprogram keahlian Teknik Mesin di SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta ada 19 faktor, yaituvisi prakerin, misi prakerin, kondisi siswa, kondisi orangtua siswa, kondisi guru,tujuan prakerin, penyiapan sekolah, penyiapan sarana dan prasarana, pemanfaatansarana dan prasarana, kegiatan siswa, kegiatan guru, keterlibatan DUDI,pelaksanaan administarasi, pengendalian terhadap pelanggaran yang dilakukansiswa, pelaksanaan penilaian hasil prakerin, keterampilan siswa, pengalaman siswa,personalitas siswa, dan kepuasan siswa, (5) pelaksanaan prakerin program keahlianTeknik Mesin di SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta memberikan lima manfaat yaknimeningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta, meningkatkanketerampilan praktik siswa, menambah pengalaman praktik siswa, meningkatkanpersonalitas siswa, dan meningkatkan kepuasan siswa dalam praktik kerja industri.Kata kunci: SMK, praktik kerja industri, evaluasi, CIPP.ABSTRACTThe objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the description ofschool conditions in implementing the Industrial Apprenticeship at the StudyProgram of Mechanical Engineering; (2) the preparation done by the school inimplementing the industrial apprenticeship at the Study Program of MechanicalEngineering; (3) the quality of the implementation of the industrial apprenticeshipat the Study Program of Mechanical Engineering; (4) the factors that support theimplementation of the industrial apprenticeship at the Study Program of MechanicalEngineering; and (5) the benefits of the industrial apprenticeship at the StudyProgram of Mechanical Engineering.The research was conducted at State Vocational High School 2 of Surakarta.It employed the descriptive evaluative research method with the Context, Input,Process, and Product (CIPP) model. The samples of research were taken by usingthe purposive sampling technique. They included 18 teachers of the Study Programof Mechanical Engineering, 95 students in Grade XII of the Study Program ofMechanical Engineering, and 3 enterprises/industries. The data of research werecollected through questionnaire and documentation. The items of questionnairewere validated by using the logic validity. They were analyzed by using the averagescore counted analysis model.The results of research are as follows: (1) State Vocational High School 2of Surakarta is very well-conditioned in preparing the industrial apprenticeship; (2)the preparation done by the school in implementing the industrial apprenticeship atthe Study Program of Mechanical Engineering is already very good; (3) the qualityof the implementation of the industrial apprenticeship at the Study Program ofMechanical Engineering of the school is very good; (4) the factors that support theimplementation of the industrial apprenticeship at the Study Program of MechanicalEngineering include 19 factors, namely: vision of industrial apprenticeship,missions of industrial apprenticeship, students’ condition, their parents’ condition,the teachers’ condition, the objective of industrial apprenticeship, schoolpreparation, facility and infrastructure preparation, facility and infrastructureutilization, students’ activities, teachers’ activities, business/industry involvement,administration implementation, control toward the violation done by the students,implementation of industrial apprenticeship evaluation, students’ skills, students’experiences, students’ personalities, and students’ satisfaction; and (5) the benefitsof the industrial apprenticeship at the Study Program of Mechanical Engineeringconsist of five namely: improvement of the educational quality of the school,improvement of the students’ practical skills, addition of the students’ practicalexperiences, improvement of the students’ personalities, and increase of thestudents’ satisfactions of industrial apprenticeship.Keywords: Vocational Education, industrial apprenticeship, evaluation, CIPP
