ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 5 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 pada mata pelajaran Teknik Pemesinan Bubut.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus diawali dengan tahap perencanaan, tahap tindakan, tahap observasi, dan tahap refleksi. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI Teknik Mesin D SMK Negeri 5 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Data diperoleh melalui observasi atau pengamatan lapangan, wawancara, tes hasil belajar (tes pra siklus, siklus I, dan siklus II) dan kajian dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data deskriptif komparatif.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI Teknik Mesin D SMK Negeri 5 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 mata pelajaran Teknik Pemesinan Bubut. Pada tahap pra siklus digunakan metode konvensional dan ditemukan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa rendah. Peningkatan terjadi pada siklus I saat model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) diterapkan. Target dalam penelitian ini adalah memperoleh minimal 70% pada masing-masing indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis dan minimal 70% siswa tuntas KKM (=75). Keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa meningkat walaupun masih belum optimal dan belum mencapai target. Pelaksanaan siklus II menyebabkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan hingga mencapai target yang diharapkan. Peningkatan presentase siswa yang tuntas KKM dari pra siklus sebesar 34,375% menjadi 78,125% pada siklus II atau terjadi peningkatan sebesar 43,75%. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran Teknik Pemesinan Bubut kelas XI Teknik Mesin D SMK Negeri 5 Surakarta.

ABSTRACT
This research aims to evaluate the effect of cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) on the student critical thinking skills and learning outcomes of class XI SMK Negeri 5 Surakarta academic year 2014/2015 on the subjects of Lathe Machining.
This research is a Classroom Action Research which conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection stage. The research was conducted class XI Mechanical Engineering D SMK Negeri 5 Surakarta academic year 2014/2015. Data obtained through field observations, interviews, achievement test (pre-test cycle, the first cycle and second cycle) and documentation. This study uses comparative descriptive data analysis techniques.
It shows that the implementation of cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) improves the student critical thinking skills and learning outcomes at class XI Mechanical Engineering D SMK Negeri 5 Surakarta academic year of 2014/2015 in the subjects of Lathe Machining. In the pre-cycle stage where conventional method was used, it is found that the critical thinking skills and learning outcomes is quite low. When the cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) was applied, the student critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes increase eventhough it was still under the research target of 70% on each of the indicators of critical thinking skills and a minimum of 70% of students completed the minimum mastery criteria (=75). The target value of critical thinking skills and learning outcomes in the second cycle until been reached the intended target. An increase in the percentage of students who passed the minimum mastery criteria of pre-cycle of 34.375% to 78.125% in the second cycle or an increase of 43.75%. The conclusions of this research is that the implementation of cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) improves the student critical thinking skills and learning outcomes in the subjects of Lathe Machining class D XI Mechanical Engineering SMK Negeri 5 Surakarta.
