ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Game Tournamentuntukmeningkatkan prestasi belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Sosiologi kelas X 7 SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali tahun pelajaran 2014/2015.
Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, setiap siklus terdiri atas perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi atas tindakan yang telah dilakukan. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas X 7 SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali tahun ajaran 2014/2015 yang berjumlah 33peserta didik. Sumber data berasal dari guru dan peserta didik. Teknik utama dalam pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan tes, sementara teknik pedukung dengan menggunakan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dengan menggunakan teknik analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Game Tournamentdapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Sosiologi kelas XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 3 Salatiga. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan peningkatan prestasi belajar peserta didikpada pra siklus dengan nilai rata-rata 69,24 meningkat menjadi 82,27 pada siklus I dan 87,27 pada siklus II.
Simpulan penelitian ini adalah penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Game Tournamentdapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar peserta didik kelas X 7 SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali Tahun Pelajaran 2014/2015.

ABSTRACT
This research aimed to apply the Team Game Tournament (TGT) type of cooperative learning model to improve the learning achievement of students in the Sociological subject in the 10th7 grader of SMA Negeri 2 of Boyolali in the school year of 2014/2015.
This study was a Classroom Action Research (CAR). This study was conducted in two cycles, each of which consisted of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting on the action taken. The subject of research was the 10th7 graders of SMA Negeri 2 of Boyolali in the school year of 2014/2015, consisting of 33 students. The data source derived from teacher and students. The fundamental techniques of collecting data used were observation and test, and the supporting ones were interview and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using quantitative and qualitative analysis technique.
The result of research showed that the application of Team Game Tournament type of cooperative learning model could improve the learning achievement of students in Sociological subject of the 11th Social Science 1 of SMA Negeri 3 Salatiga. It could be seen from the improvement of student learning achievement in pre-cycle with mean score of 69.24 increasing to 82.27 in cycle I and 87.27 in cycle II.
The conclusion of research was that the application of Team Game Tournament type of cooperative learning model could improve the learning achievement of 10th7 graders of SMA Negeri 2 of Boyolali in the school year of 2014/2015.
