Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk : (1) Mengetahui pengaruh faktor pendidikan terhadap partisipasi masyarkat dalam konservasi karst. (2) Mengetahui pengaruh faktor pendapatan terhadap partisipasi masyarakat dalam konservasi karst.   (3)   Mengetahui   pengaruh   faktor   pengetahuan   terhadap   partisipasi masyarakat dalam konservasi karst. (4) Mengetahui kendala yang dihadapi masyarakat di Kecamatan Ponjong dalam pelaksanaan konservasi karst.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Survei dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah pendidikan (X1), pendapatan (X2), pengetahuan (X3) dan partisipasi masyarakat dalam konservasi karst (X4). Populasi penelitian ini seluruh kepala keluarga di Kecamatan Ponjong. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan Multistage Randpm Sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data wawancara dengan pedoman wawancara. Kemudian teknik analisis menggunakan uji statistik dengan analisis regresi ganda dana analisis deskriptif.
Hasil penelitian ini adalah : (1) Tidak Terdapat pengaruh secara langsung antara pendidikan dengan partisipasi masyarakat dalam konservasi karst, dengan besar pengaruh (kontribusi) 17,4%, sehingga meskipun tingkat pendidikan tinggi, tidak berpengaruh terhadap tingkat partisipasi. (2) Terdapat pengaruh secara langsung  antara  pendapatan  dengan  partisipasi  masyarakat  dalam  konservasi karst, dengan besar pengaruh 27,3%, sehingga semakin tinggi tingkat pendapatan maka semakin tinggi tingkat partisipasi. (3) Terdapat pengaruh secara langsung antara pengetahuan dengan partisipasi masyarakat dalam konservasi karst, dengan besar  pengaruh  36,8%,  sehingga  semakin  tinggi  tingkat  pengetahuan  maka semakin tinggi tingkat partisipasi. (4) pengetahuan menjadi kendala dalam konservasi karst di Kecamatan Ponjong Kabupaten Gunungkidul.

The purpose of this research is to : (1) Find out the influence of education toward society participation in karst concervation. (2) Find out the influence of income toward    society  participation  in  karst  concervation.  (3) Find  out  the influence of knowledge toward society participation in karst conservation. (4) Find out the constraints faced by the people in the District Ponjong in karst conservation implementation.
This research employs Survey method with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The variables of this research are: education (X1), income (X2), knowledge (X3), and society participation in the  conservation of karst (Y). The population of this research are all heads of families in  Ponjong sub district. The sampling method used in this research are multistages and random sampling method. The data of this research were collected through interview and questionaires. The data were analyzed by applying statistical analysis of multiple
regression analysis and descriptive analysis.
The findings of this research are : (1) That there not is significant direct influence between education and society participation in karst concervation, with amount of influential contribution of 17,4%, so even though the level of higher education, has no effect on the level of participation. (2) That there is direct significant influence between income and society participation in karst concervation, with amount of influential contribution level of 27,3%, so that the higher the level of income the higher the level of participation. (3) That there is direct significant influence between knowledge and society participation in karst concervation, with amount of influential contribution level of 36,8%, so the higher the level of knowledge of the higher level of participation. (4) knowledge is a constraint in karst conservation in sub District Ponjong of Gunungkidul regency.
