ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) karakteristik produk modulbiologi berbasis model Guided Inquiry Laboratory pada materi bioteknologi untuksiswa kelas XII IPA SMA Negeri 1 Magelang, (2) kelayakan prototipe modul biologiberbasis Guided Inquiry Laboratory pada materi bioteknologi untuk siswa kelas XIIIPA SMA Negeri 1 Magelang, (3) keefektifan modul biologi berbasis model GuidedInquiry Laboratory pada materi bioteknologi terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas XII IPASMA Negeri 1 Magelang.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang mengadaptasi model penelitianpengembangan dari Borg & Gall yang telah dimodifikasi. Prosedur penelitian yangdilakukan adalah penelitian pendahuluan, perencanaan, pengembangan prototypeproduk, validasi prototype produk, revisi prototype produk, uji lapangan terbatas, revisiproduk, uji pemakaian produk, revisi produk akhir. Pengembangan modul biologiberbasis model Guided Inquiry Laboratory pada materi bioteknologi mengadaptasimodel ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahapan yaitu Analyze, Design, Develop,Implement, dan Evaluate. Validasi dari prototipe produk pengembangan ini dilakukanoleh ahli materi, ahli pengembangan media, ahli perangkat pembelajaran, ahli bahasa,dan praktisi pembelajaran Biologi. Bertindak sebagai subyek uji keterbacaan adalah 12siswa kelas XII SMAN 1 Sumberlawang dan SMAN 3 Magelang. Subyek Uji cobalapangan dilakukan di SMAN 1 Magelang. Dalam melakukan penelitian untukmenentukan efektivitas modul, siswa kelas XII IPA 3 bertindak sebagai kelas modul,sedangkan siswa kelas XII IPA 4 bertindak sebagai kelas existing.Hasil penelitian dan pengembangan menunjukkan bahwa: 1) karakteristik modulberbasis Guided Inquiry Laboratory dikembangkan berdasarkan sintaks Guided InquiryLaboratory, meliputi observation, manipulation, generalization, verification danapplication; 2) kelayakan prototype modul berbasis Guided Inquiry Laboratorymenurut validator ahli berkategori “sangat baik”, menurut praktisi pendidikanberkategori “sangat baik”, dan menurut subyek uji keterbacaan berkategori “sangatbaik”.(3) modul berbasis model Guided Inquiry Laboratory efektif untukmemberdayakan hasil belajar dari aspek sosial dengan pencapaian sebesar 85.94, aspekketerampilan dengan pencapaian sebesar 93.47, aspek pengetahuan dengan nilai rataratasebesar 86.58. Berdasarkan hasil uji Independent Sample t test niliai aspekpengetahuan menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas modul dankelas existing dengan nilai Thitung 0,002< T tabel 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian dananalisis data validator, serta uji keefektivan dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul berbasismodel Guided Inquiry Laboratory dinyatakan layak dan efektif untuk memberdayakankemampuan siswa aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik pada materi bioteknologi.Kata kunci: modul, Guided Inquiry Laboratory, hasil belajar, bioteknologiABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is to determine: (1) Characteristic of Biology module’sproduct based on Guided Inquiry Laboratory Model on biotechnology materials forstudents of class XII IPA in SMA Negeri 1 Magelang, (2) Feasibility of the prototype ofBiology module based on Guided Inquiry Laboratory on biotechnology materials forstudents of class XII IPA in SMA Negeri 1 Magelang, (3) Effectiveness of Biologymodule based on Guided Inquiry Laboratory Model on biotechnology materials onlearning achievement of students of class XII IPA in SMA Negeri 1 Magelang.This research is a development research which adapt research development model fromBorg & Gall that has been modified. Development of Biology module based on GuidedInquiry Laboratory Model on biotechnology materials adapt ADDIE models whichconsists of five phases, namely Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate.Validation of the prototype product development is carried out by experts of material,media development experts, learning device expert, linguists, and Biology learningpractitioners. Subjects reader test of trial are 12 students of class XII in SMAN 1Sumberlawang and SMAN 3 Magelang. The field trial is conducted in SMAN 1Magelang. When conducting research to determine the effectiveness of the module, thestudents of class XII IPA 3 act as a modeling class, while students of class XII IPA 4 actas an existing class.The research results are: 1) the charactheristics of biology module based on GuidedInquiry laboratory included Guided Inquiry laboratory syntax: observation,manipulation, generalization, verification and application; 2) the feasibility of biologymodule based on Guided Inquiry laboratory by experts obtained “very good” category,by education practicians obtained “very good” category while by subject reader test oftrial obtained “good” category; 3) biology module based on Guided Inquiry laboratoryeffectively improving students’ learning achievement with gain score 85.94 in averagefor social aspect, 93.47 in average for skill aspect, and 86.58 in average for knowledgeaspect. Based on independent sample t test result shows significant differences inpostest learning outcomes of knowledge aspect between modelling class with existingclass on biotechnology material with T count 0,002< Ttable 0.05. Based on the results ofvalidators’ assessment and data analysis, as well as effectivity test, it can be concludedthat module based on Guided Inquiry Laboratory Model is declared as eligible andeffective to empower students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor on biotechnologymaterials.Keywords: module, Guided Inquiry Laboratory, learning achievement,biotechnology
