ABSTRAK
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar matematika, mendeskripsikan tindakan secara tepat untuk meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar matematika, dan mendeskripsikan kelebihan dan kelemahan penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning menggunakan media benda konkrit dalam pembelajaran matematika bagi eserta didik kelas II SD 2 Rejosari, Dawe, Kudus Tahun Pelajaran 2014/2015.
Bentuk penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan menggunakan model siklus.Tiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu; perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi.Subyek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas II SD 2 Rejosari yang berjumlah 26 anak.Data diperoleh menggunakan tes, dokumentasi dan pengamatan.Tehnik analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif.
Hasil penelitian tindakan kelas menunjukkan bahwa melalui penerapan pembelajaran discovery learning dengan media benda konkrit dapat meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar peserta didik.1) Minat belajar pada siklus I ada 18 anak (69,23%) dengan indikator ketercapaian (74,68%). Pada siklus II minat belajar ada 25 anak (96,15%) dengan indikator ketercapaian (87,18%). Hasil belajar peserta didik pada siklus I ada 18 anak (69,23%) dengan indikator ketercapaian (79,62%). Pada siklus II ada 25 anak (96,15%) dengan indikator ketercapaian (90%). 2) Penerapan yang tepat yang dapat meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar adalah; pembelajaran menggunakan media benda konkrit, memberikan penjelasan materi pelajaran secara jelas, menggunakan berbagai sumber belajar, perhatian guru terhadap peserta didik harus menyeluruh, dalam membentuk kelompok harus memilih peserta didik yang memiliki kemampuan secara heterogen. 3) Kelebihan dari pembelajaran discovery learning dengan media benda konkrit adalah peserta didik lebih mudah memahami materi pelajaran karena ditunjukkan benda nyata di lingkungan sekitar. Kelemahanya terbatasnya benda-benda yang ada di lingkungan sekolah sehingga pembelajaran harus keluar dari lingkungan sekolah

ABSTRACT
The objectives of research were to improve mathematic learning interest and achievement, to describe the appropriate measures taken to improve mathematic learning interest and achievement, and to describe the strength and weakness of discovery learning model application with concrete object media in mathematic learning for the 2nd graders of SD 2 (Second Elementary School) Rejosari of Dawe Sub District of Kudus Regency in the school year of 2014/2015.
This study was a classroom action research using cycle model. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subject of research was the 2nd graders of SD 2 Rejosari consisting of 26 students. The data was obtained using test, documentation and observation. Technique of analyzing data used was a descriptive qualitative.
The result of classroom action research showed that the application of discovery learning with concrete object media could improve the learning interest and achievement of students. 1) Regarding learning interest in cycle I, there were 18 students (69.23%) with indicator of achievement (74.68%). In cycle II, there were 25 students (96.15%) with indicator of achievement (87.18%). Meanwhile, regarding learning achievement of students in cycle I there were 18 students (69.23%) with indicator of achievement (79.62%). In cycle II there were 25 students (96.15%) with indicator of achievement (90%). 2) The appropriate application that could improve learning interest and achievement was the learning using concrete object media, providing clear explanation on teaching material, using a variety of learning source, teacher should pay attention comprehensively to the students, and in creating group, the students with heterogeneous abilities should be selected. 3) The strength of discovery learning model with concrete object media was that the students would understand the teaching material more easily because it was demonstrated by real objects in surrounding environment. The weakness was the limited object existing in school environment so that the learning should be held outside environment.
