Terutama bidang industri tekstil.

ABSTRACT
Background : Skin irritation is inflammation of the skin caused by the working environment. Especially the textile industries. In the field of textile industry frequently used ingredients that cause skin irritation, namely water, such as skin cleaners (detergents), materials such alkalis (soap, soda, ammonium, potassium, and sodium hydroxide), acidic ingredients such as (hidroclorida acid, acid nitrate, acid chromat). Workers staining or silk screening do phiysical contact with these materials for approximately 8 hours a day every day. The use of gloves is not in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) can cause skin irritation. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) gloves with skin irritation In Sragen batik industry.
Methods : This research uses analytical observational research. This research was conducted in the village Pilang Masaran District of Sragen with 32 respondents. The measurement of the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)gloves used questionnaires to measure the contact dermatitis caused by work or skin irritation using a doctor’s examination.. The statistical test used is Chi- Square test using SPSS version 18.
Result : The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the impementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) gloves with skin irritation with P = 0.034 < 0.05.
Conclusion : Based on these results it can be concluded that there is a correlation between the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Gloves with skin irritation. Based on the result it can be conclude to get ready gloves as Personal Protective Equipmnet (PPE) spesific as neoprene or vinyl. And than workers to make implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) gloves as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately in order to prevent the phisycal contact directly with chemicals.
