ABSTRACT
The objective of this research is to improve the Accounting learning motivation of the students through the use of Peer Lessons method equipped with power point media in Grade X Accounting B of Wikarya Vocational High School of Karanganyar.
This research used the classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four phases i.e. planning, implementation, observation and interpretation, and reflection. The research was collaboratively done by the researcher the Accounting teacher of the school. The subjects of research were the students as many as 28 in Grade X Accounting B of Wikarya Vocational High School of Karanganyar. The data of research were collected through questionnaire, observation, and documentation. They were validated by using the method and source triangulations and analyzed by using the descriptive comparative analysis and the qualitative data analysis.
The result of research shows that the use of the Peer Lessons equipped with the Power Point media can improve the students’ Accounting learning motivation from the pre-treatment through Cycle II. The learning process during the pre-treatment used the one-direction lecture method and blackboard, and the students’ Accounting learning motivation was 53.57%. Then, in Cycles I, the learning process used the Peer Lessons equipped with Power Point media. Although there were some weaknesses, the students’ Accounting learning motivation increased as much as 7.14% from 53.57% to 60.71%. The significant increase was seen in Cycle II, in which the learning process used the Peer Lessons equipped with Power Point media optimally so that the students’ learning motivation percentage became 87.57% in Cycle II.
Thus, the use of the Peer Lessons method equipped with the Power Point media can improve the Accounting learning motivation of the students in Grade X Accounting B of Wikarya Vocational High School of Karanganyar.
