ABSTRAK
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Untuk mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah implementasi metode Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) dengan media presentasi, (2) Untuk meningkatkan pembelajaran IPS siswa kelas V SD Negeri 1 Ngadirojo tahun ajaran 2014/2015, dan (3) Untuk mendeskripsikan kendala yang dihadapi dan solusinya.
Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) kolaborasi menggunakan rancangan penelitian siklus. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus terdiri atas perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri 1 Ngadirojo sejumlah 32 siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model analisis kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes, observasi, wawancara dan dokumen. Uji validitas data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah triangulasi data dan sumber.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Implementasi Student Facilitator and Explaining dengan media presentasi dilaksanakan dengan langkah-langkah sebagai berikut: (a) pendahuluan, (b) penyampaian, (c) penugasan, (d) presentasi/ explaining, (e) penyimpulan ide, dan (f) penutup; (2) Implementasi Student Facilitator and Explaining dengan media presentasi dapat meningkatkan pembelajaran IPS yang meliputi proses belajar dan hasil belajar. Pada penilaian proses belajar IPS, jumlah siswa yang tuntas pada siklus I sebanyak 68,13%, siklus II 78,87%, dan siklus III 91,25%. Sedangkan pada hasil belajar IPS jumlah siswa yang KKM = 71 pada siklus I sebanyak 73,43%, siklus II 89,06%, dan siklus III 95,32%; dan (3) Kendala saat pembelajaran yaitu: (a) guru kurang percaya diri dalam mengimplementasikan Student Facilitator and Explaining dengan media presentasi, (b) guru masih belum dapat menguasai kelas dengan optimal, (c) siswa masih pasif dan kurang percaya diri dalam mengajukan pertanyaan dan pendapat, dan (d) keaktifan siswa masih didominasi oleh beberapa siswa saja sehingga kerjasama kelompok masih kurang. Adapun solusinya yaitu: (a) memberikan motivasi terhadap guru agar percaya diri saat mengajar, (b) memotivasi guru untuk lebih menguasai kelas dengan menggunakan kalimat-kalimat yang dapat menarik perhatian siswa, (c) memotivasi siswa agar aktif mengajukan pertanyaan atau pendapat, dan (d) siswa diarahkan untuk membagi tugas kelompok agar dapat terjalin kerjasama.
Simpulan penelitian ini adalah implementasi metode Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) dengan media presentasi dapat meningkatkan pembelajaran IPS pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri 1 Ngadirojo tahun ajaran 2014/2015.

ABSTRACT
The objectives of this research are: (1) to describe the steps of the implementation Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) using presentation media, (2) to improve social science learning for the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Ngadirojo in academic year 2014/2015, and (3) to describe obstacles and solutions.
This research is a collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR) using cycle research design. This research was conducted in three cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Subjects were fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Ngadirojo totaling 32 students. Data analysis technique used was qualitative analysis model. Data collection techniques used were tests, observations, interviews, and documents. Validity of data used in this research was triangulation of data and sources.
The results showed that: (1) the implementation of Student Facilitator and Explaining method using presentation media conducted through the following steps: (a) introduction, (b) delivery of material, (c) giving assignment, (d) explaining, (e) drawing conclusion of idea, and (f) closing; (2) The implementation of Student Facilitator and Explaining method using presentation media can improve social science learning including learning process and learning outcomes. In the assessment of learning process of social science, the number of students who completed the first cycle was 68.13%, in the second cycle 78.87%, and in the third cycle 91.25%. While the number of students who completed minimum completeness criteria of 71 in learning outcomes of social science was 73.43% in the first cycle, in the second cycle 89.06%, and in the third cycle 95.32%; and (3) Obstacles in learning were (a) the teacher was lack of confidence in implementing Student Facilitator and Explaining method using presentation media, (b) the teacher could not manage the class well, (c) students were still passive and not confident in asking questions and opinions, and (d) the active participation by students is still dominated by a few groups of students just so cooperation is still lacking. Solutions are: (a) provide motivation for teachers to be confident when teaching, (b) motivate teachers to master the class by using sentences that can attract students attention, (c) motivate students to be active in asking questions or opinions, and (d) students are given instruction to divide the assignment in group in order to establish cooperation.
The conclusion of this research is the implementation of Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) method using presentation media can improve social science learning for the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Ngadirojo in academic year 2014/2015.
