ABSTRACTBackground: Fire is an unwanted event and sometimes can not be controlled. For workers, fire can be a misery and catastrophe. The purpose of this study was to determine how the effort to implement prevention and control fire hazards in the PT. Kimia Farma (Persero) Tbk. Plant Semarang.Methods: This study was conducted using descriptive method that gives an overview of the efforts of fire prevention and suppression. Data were collected through direct observation to the field, interviews and literature study.Results: Prevention and control efforts against fire in PT. Kimia Farma (Persero) Tbk. Plant Semarang in accordance with Act 1 of 1970 on Occupational Safety, the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration No. Per 04 / MEN / 1980 concerning requirements Installation and Maintenance Equipment Fire Extinguisher Kepmenaker RI. No: KEP-186 / MEN / 1999 concerning fire prevention unit in the workplace.Conclusion: PT. Kimia Farma (Persero) Tbk. Plant Semarang has made the prevention and mitigation of fire hazards. The advice given by the company is preferably carried out repairs on the installation, marking and placement of portable fire extinguisher in accordance with Permenakertrans No.Per-04 / MEN / 1980.Key words: Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting.
