ABSTRAK
Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk (1) mengetahui ada atau tidak adanya miskonsepsi siswa SMA kelas XI Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014 tentang materi Dinamika Rotasi dan Kesetimbangan Benda Tegar, (2) mengetahui bagaimana profil miskonsepsi siswa SMA kelas XI Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014 tentang materi Dinamika Rotasi dan Kesetimbangan Benda Tegar, (3) menjelaskan langkah-langkah mengatasi miskonsepsi siswa SMA kelas XI Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014 tentang materi Dinamika Rotasi dan Kesetimbangan Benda Tegar.
Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif dan sampelnya siswa kelas XI.IPA.2 dan XI.IPA.4 SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta, yang diperoleh secara purposive sampling. Data penelitian miskonsepsi siswa diperoleh dari perangkat tes berbentuk pilihan ganda tipe II dan tipe III, yang dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif.
Berdasarkan analisis data dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan: (1) ada sebagian siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta pada Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014 memiliki miskonsepsi tentang materi Dinamika Rotasi dan Keseimbangan Benda Tegar, (2) Profil miskonsepsi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta dengan persentase rata-rata terbesar adalah pada konsep keseimbangan statis (79,17 %). Berdasarkan kelompok bentuk miskonsepsi, siswa mengalami miskonsepsi pengertian yang paling dominan sebesar 81,25 % tetang konsep Keseimbangan Statis, miskonsepsi hubungan antar konsep yang paling dominan sebesar 75,00 % tentang konsep Hubungan Momen Gaya dengan Percepatan Sudut, miskonsepsi penggunaan konsep yang paling dominan sebesar 65,50 % tentang konsep Momen Inersia dan miskonsepsi contoh-contoh konsep yang paling dominan sebesar 75,00 % tentang konsep Energi Kinetik Dalam Gerak Menggelinding, (3) Langkah-langkah mengatasi miskonsepsi siswa yaitu: (a) mencari dan mengungkap miskonsepsi siswa yang terjadi, (b) mencoba menemukan penyebab miskonsepsi siswa tersebut, (c) menentukan prioritas dan pelajaran remidial khusus.

ABSTRACT
Purpose of the research was to (1) know there is or no the ownership of misconceptions about Rotational Dynamics and Equilibrium of Rigid Body material on XI class SMA students in the academic year 2013/2014, (2) know the misconception profile about Rotational Dynamics and Equilibrium of Rigid Body material that owned by XI class SMA students in the academic year 2013/2014, (3) explain the measures to overcome student’s misconceptions of Rigid Body material on XI class SMA students in the academic year 2013/2014.
Research was used a discriptive method and the sample was the students of XI.IPA.2 and XI.IPA.4 class SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta, that obtained by purposive sampling technique. The student’s misconceptions data research were obtained from the test instrument which form multiple choice test type II and type III, which be analyzed by descriptive statistics.
According the data analysis can be concluded that: (1) there is some of students of XI class SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta in the academic year 2013/2014 have misconceptions in Rotational Dynamics and Equilibrium of Rigid Body material, (2) The misconception profile on students XI class SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta with the greatest mean-precentage is Static Equilibrium concept (79,17 %). Based on type of misconception category, students have the interpretation misconceptions which most dominant 81,25 % about Static Equilibrium concept, the concept-relationship misconceptions which most dominant 75,00 % about Relation between Torque and Angular Acceleration, the concept using misconceptions which most dominant 65,50 % about Moment of Inertia and the concept-samples misconceptions which most dominant 75,00 % about Kinetic Energy in Rolling Objects, (3) Measures to overcome student’s misconceptions is: (a) search for and uncover student’s misconceptions who happen, (b) trying to find the cause of student’s misconceptions, (c) determine priorities and special remidial lesson.
