Mount Lawu is the habitat from several species of birds. Topography and vast forest cover by the typical vegetation contributed to the richness and diversity of avifauna. The purpose of this research is to know the diversity of avifauna in six dominant habitat type in Mount Lawu, i.e. habitat conditions of land damaged, sub alpine forest, the heterogeneous forest, Accacia deccurent domination, area with Pinus merkusii, and farmland. The sampling technique used Criterion base selection purposive sampling and point count. Technique of data analysis performed using descriptive and qualitative diversity index. The results showed that Mount Lawu has a diversity of birds as much as 53 types, with an index of wealth between 1,48 – 3,05.
