ABSTRAK
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kualitas proses pembelajaran
dan meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman dengan menggunakan
metode Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review (SQ3R) pada siswa kelas V
SDN Pulisen Boyolali Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016.
Bentuk penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang
dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahapan, yaitu
perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian
ini adalah siswa kelas V SDN Pulisen Boyolali yang berjumlah 32 siswa beserta
guru kelas V SDN Pulisen Boyolali. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan
adalah dokumentasi, observasi, wawancara, dan tes. Teknik analisis data yang
digunakan adalah model analisis interaktif yang terdiri dari pengumpulan data,
reduksi data, sajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Uji validitas penelitian ini
menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik.
Hasil penelitian tindakan kelas ini menunjukkan bahwa kualitas proses
pembelajaran keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa pada siklus I persentase
klasikal minat siswa sebesar 71,87%, keaktifan 62,5%, kerja sama 78,12% dan
kreativitas 62,5%. Siklus II terjadi peningkatan yaitu persentase klasikal minat
siswa menjadi 90,6%, keaktifan 81,25%, kerja sama 87,5%, dan kreativitas
78,1%. Selain itu, keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa juga mengalami
peningkatan yaitu pada kondisi awal persentase ketuntasan klasikal 34,37%,
kemudian pada siklus I persentase ketuntasan klasikal 72% dan siklus II dengan
persentase ketuntasan klasikal 93,75%.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan
metode Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review (SQ3R) dapat meningkatkan
kualitas proses pembelajaran dan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas
V SDN Pulisen Boyolali Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016.

ABSTRACT
The aim of this research was to increase the quality of learning process and
reading comprehension skills by using the SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite,
Review) Learning Method on the fifth grade students of SDN Pulisen Boyolali in
the academic year 2015/2016.
The form of this research was classroom action research and it was
conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consist of four steps, they are planning,
action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subject are the
homeroom teacher and the fifth grade students of SDN Pulisen Boyolali in the
academic year 2015/2016 consist of 32 students. The techniques of collecting data
used are documentation, observation, interview, and test. The technique of
analyzing data was interactive analyses consist of data collecting, data reduction,
data display, and conclusion. The data validity used data triangulation and
technique triangulation.
The result of classroom action researches show that quality of learning
process reading comprehension skills on the cycle I percentage classical student
interest as big as 71,87%, activeness in the amount of 62,5%, cooperation 78,12%
and creativity 62,5%. Cycle II an increase in the percentage classical student
interest become 90,6%, the activity 81,25%, cooperation 87,5%, and creativity
78,1%. In addition, students reading comprehension skills also increased on the
condition that the initial percentage classical completeness 34,37%, then in the
first cycle percentage classical completeness 72% and cycle II with a percentage
classical completeness 93,75%
Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the used
of SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) Learning Method can
increase the quality of learning process and reading comprehension skill on the
fifth grade students of SDN Pulisen Boyolali in the academic year 2015/2016.
