ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan: (1)perwatakan tokoh-tokoh dalam novel Dari Kota Solo Hingga Brattleboro karyaYoyok Mugiyatno, (2) konflik batin yang dialami tokoh utama, (3) nilai-nilaipendidikan yang terkandung di dalamnya, dan (4) relevansi nilai pendidikan yangterkandung di dalamnya sebagai materi ajar apresiasi sastra di SMA.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif denganpendekatan psikologi sastra. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan denganpurposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan analisis dokumendan wawancara. Validitas data menggunakan triangulasi teori dan triangulasisumber. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis interaktif.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perwatakan tokoh-tokoh dalamnovel Dari Kota Solo Hingga Brattleboro digambarkan melalui tiga dimensi,yaitu dimensi fisiologis, psikologis, dan sosiologis. Melalui ketiga dimensitersebut didapatkan watak tokoh Narimo, Suminah, Ustadz Muhammad A, PakModin, dan tokoh-tokoh lainnya. Konflik batin yang dialami tokoh utama,Narimo, dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori psikoanalisis Sigmund Freud yangmeliputi tiga struktur kepribadian Id, Ego dan Super Ego. Ketiga strukturkepribadian yang terdapat dalam diri Narimo menyebabkan adanya dinamikakejiwaan. Konflik batin dialami oleh Narimo adalah karena adanya fitnah,hasutan, dan ancaman dari dari Pak Modin terhadap pengajian yang dirintisnya.Fitnah tersebut tersebar luas hingga menjadikan Suminah, gadis yang dicintaiNarimo takut melanjutkan hubungan cintanya ke jenjang pernikahan. Novel DariKota Solo Hingga Brattleboro juga mengandung empat nilai pendidikan, yaitunilai religius, nilai moral, nilai sosial, dan nilai estetika. Novel Dari Kota SoloHingga Brattleboro relevan untuk dijadikan sebagai materi ajar apresiasi sastra diSMA kelas XII.Kata Kunci: psikologi sastra, watak tokoh, konflik batin, psikoanalisis Freud,nilai pendidikanABSTRACTThe objective of this research is to describe and explain: (1) thecharacterization of the figures in the novel Dari Kota Solo Hingga Brattleboro byYoyok Mugiyatno, (2) the inner conflict experienced by the main figure, (3) thevalues of education which can be elicited in the novel Dari Kota Solo HinggaBrattleboro by Yoyok Mugiyatno, (4) the relevance of the values of education asteaching materials of literature appreciation in high school.This research is a descriptive-qualitative research which used psychologyliterature approach. The technique of data sampling used was purposive sampling.Document analysis and interviews were used as the technique of collecting data. Thevalidity of the data was ensured by using triangulation of source and theory. Thetechnique of data analysis used was interactive analysis techniques.The results of this research showed that the characterization of the figuresin the novel Dari Kota Solo Hingga Brattleboro by Yoyok Mugiyatno are describedthrough three dimensions, the dimension of physiological, psychological, andsociological. Through the three dimensional character is obtained figures of Narimo,Suminah, Ustadz Muhammad A, Pak Modin, and other figures. Inner conflictsexperienced by the main character, Narimo, were analyzed by using the theory ofpsychoanalysis which included three of personality structure such as Id, Ego andSuper Ego. The three personality structures contained in Narimo caused the conflictof soul. The Inner conflict experienced in Narimo is caused by slander, provocationand threats from Pak Modin towards the pengajian, a gathering for Muslims to learnabout religion. The slander is widely spread out until Suminah, the girl who lovedNarimo, feared to continue their relationship to the get married. Novel Dari KotaSolo Hingga Brattleboro by Yoyok Mugiyatno also contains the four values such aseducation; religious values, moral values, social values, and aesthetic values.
