ABSTRAK
Fenomena yang berkembang sampai saat ini bahwa minat belajar kriya ukir semakin menurun,Hal ini menjadi pandangan tersendiri buat Soekarno sehingga timbul keinginandengan idealismenya bersikap kokoh mempertahankan aktifitaskriya pada masyarakat Jepara,melalui cipta karya kriya sebagai upaya melestarikandanmengembangkan budaya ukir Jepara.Darilatarbelakang yang adaditemukan pokok masalah : bagaimanakah konsep, proses penciptaan wujud kriya karya Soekarno yang memberikan makna perubahan.
Penelitian ini menggunakan teorimodernitas, melaluipendekatan interdisiplin dan penggalian data dalam penelitianinibersifat kualitatif interpretatif. Fokus penelitian adalah karya kriya kayu dan Soekarno sebagai sumber data dengan latar penelitian di Jepara. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara terstruktur dengan penyusunan jadwal kerja penelitian berupa matrik, serta penggunaan dokumen tertulis dan dokumentasi audio, video. Pemeriksaan keabsahan data dilakukan dengan cara validitas silang atau triangulasi kemudian dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan analitik antropologi sosial dengan model interaktif tiga model alir, (1) Reduksi data, (2) Penyajian data, (3) Penarikan simpulan.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkanlatar konsep Soekarno dalam penciptaan karya timbul akibat gejolak sosial yangdibenturkan dengan pengalaman batin/psikologisertaperspektif keindahan dalam dimensi spiritual.Penciptaankriya kayu Soekarno berlangsung dari tahun 1970-1990 kemudian mengalami masa reduksi karya dari tahun 1991-1993, perubahan signifikan terjadi antara tahun 1994-2000 dan fase produktif 2001-2015.
Wujud kriya karya Soekarno secara khusus dapat diklasifikasikan dalam lima tahap yakni tradisi, reduksi, transisi, eksistensi, konsistensi dengan tiga temacipta yakni alam, kontemporer, dan feminismesebagai acuan dalam konsep karya.Adapunmakna perubahan bentuk kriya merupakan akibat dari gejolak sosial yang kemudian dibenturkan dengan pengalaman pribadi batin dalam dimensi spiritual.Soekarno ingin menunjukkan jati diri sebagai kriyawan. Namun pada sisi lain ia ingin memposisikan dirinya pada status sosial yang lebih tinggi yaitu dari status sosial sebagai borjuis muda baru menjadi borjuis muda.

ABSTRAC
The growing phenomenon todays is that the interest in learning carved craft is decreasing. Therefore, it stands to reason for Soekarno, in the meantime, to maintain his idealism to sustain craft activities to Jepara society. From the background of study, it was found the subject matter as follow: how was the concept, the process of creation of craft form by Soekarno that has a meaning changes.
This research used theory of modernity through interdiciplinary approach and data mining in this research is qualitative interpretative. The research focus is wood craft works and Soekarno as a data resource which is located in Jepara. Data collection was through observation and structured interview by arranging a work schedule of research in matrix, and also the use of written documents and audio documents, and video. The data validity checking was done by using cross validity or triangulation, then it was analyzed by using analytical approach to social anthropology with interactive model of three flow models, they are (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, (3)drawing conclusion.
However, the research result showed the background concept in work creation impinged due to social upheaval that had an impact in spirit or psychology and perspective of aesthetics in spiritual dimension. The wood craft creation Soekarno was happening in 1970-1990, nevertheless it experienced time of reduction work in 1991-1993, meanwhile the significant changes was happening in 1994-2000 and having productive phase in 2001-2015.
The craft created by Soekarno specifically could be classified into five phases, they are tradition, reduction, transition, existence, consistence, with three creation themes, they are nature, contemporer, and feminism as a reference in work concept. Meanwhile, the meaning of carving changes.
