ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model inkuiri terbimbing dan inkuiri bebas termodifikasi terhadap keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi,(2) mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model inkuiri terbimbing dan inkuiri bebas termodifikasihasil belajar siswa yang meliputi aspek respon sikap dan aspek keterampilan siswa kelas XI di SMA N 1 Sukoharjo pada materi Termokimia.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 sebanyak 7 kelas. Sampel penelitian ditentukan secara acak melalui teknik cluster random sampling sebanyak 2 kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes untuk mengukur Keterampilan Berpikir Tingkat Tinggi siswa dan metode non tes yang meliputi angket,observasi, jurnal guru untuk mengukur hasil belajar aspek respon sikap dan observasi,proyek,laporan untuk mengukur hasil belajar aspek keterampilan. Uji hipotesis penelitian menggunakan analisis multivariat (uji manova).
Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) tidak ada perbedaanpengaruh penggunaan model Inkuiri Terbimbing dan Inkuiri Bebas Termodifikasi terhadap keterampilan berfikir tingkat tinggi siswa, dari hasil uji parametrik Manova, diketahui signifikansi keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa 0 ,589 (>0,05 : H0 diterima), (2) tidak ada perbedaanpengaruh penggunaan model Inkuiri Terbimbing dan Inkuiri Bebas Termodifikasi terhadap hasil belajar aspek sikap, namun ada perbedaan untuk aspek keterampilan. Dari hasil uji non parametrik Kruskall-Wallis, diketahui signifikansi hasil belajar aspek sikap 0,574 (>0,05 : H0 diterima)sedangkan hasil uji parametrik Manova, diketahui signifikansi keterampilan 0,000 (<0,05: H0 ditolak)

ABSTRACK
The research are aimed to determine: (1)the influence between guided inquiry learning and modified free inquirylearning models towards higher order thinking skill, (2) the influence between guided inquiry learning and modified free inquiry learning models towards student learning achievement include attitude response aspects and skill aspect of student XI grade SMA N 1 Sukoharjo in termochemical matter.
This research used experimental method. The population of research was all student in XI grade SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo in academic year 2015/2016 consist of 7 class. Sample of this research were determined with cluster random sampling technique consist of 2 class. Data was collected using test method in order to measure Higher Order Thinking Skill level and non-test methode which cosisted of questionaire, observation, teacher’s journal in order to measure learning achievement in attitude response aspect and observation, project, and practicum report to measure student learning achievement in skill aspect. Hipotesist test of research used multivariate analyse (Manova test).
The result of experiment showed that: (1)there are no difference influenced usingguided inquiry learning and modified free inquirylearning models towards higher order thinking skill level of student, from resulted of parametric test used Manova has known that significance level toward higher order thinking skill level student was 0,589(>0,05:H0 accepted),(2) there are no difference influenced usingguided inquiry learning and modified free inquiry learning models towards student learning achivement in attitude respon aspect, but there is a differences influenced implementation of guided inquiry learning and modified free inquiry models in skill aspect. From resulted of non-parametric test used Kurskal Wallis has known that significance level toward attitude response aspect student was 0,574(>0,05:H0 accepted), meanwhile from resulted of parametric test used Manova has known that significance level toward skill aspect was 0,000(>0,05:H0 rejected)
