Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji dan mengetahui dampak positif  dan dampak negatif dari pembangunan area terpadu oleh PT. Gapura Mas Asri terhadap masyarakat di Desa Ngringo dari segi sosial dan segi ekonomi serta mendeskripsikan gambaran sosial ekonomi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data primer berupa wawancara tentang Aspek Sosial dan Ekonomi yang digambarkan dalam kuesioner sedangkan data sekunder berupa pencatatan dari catatan yang dimiliki oleh Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Kabupaten Karanganyar. Hasil penelitiannya adalah area terpadu milik PT. Gapura Mas Asri memiliki dampak positif maupun negatif. Dampak positif dari pembangunan area teradu oleh PT. Gapura Mas Asri dari segi sosial dan ekonomi adalah: (1). Dapat mengurangi pengangguran yang ada di Desa Ngringo. (2). Meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat. (3). Dapat membuka lahan usaha baru seperti warung makan, rumah kos, kios pulsa, dan laundry kiloan (4). Meningkatnya harga jual tanah khususnya di daerah Desa Ngringo akibat adanya area terpadu tersebut. (5). Menambah Pendapatan Daerah Kabupaten Karanganyar pada umumnya dan meningkatnya PDRB pada Kecamatan Jaten pada khususmya akibat adanya aktivitas pembangunan area terpadu tersebut. Dampak negatif dari pembangunan area terpadu oleh PT. Gapura Mas Asri dari segi sosial dan ekonomi adalah (1). Kebisingan yang disebabkan oleh lalu lintas kendaraan (baik pada saat pra konstruksi, konstruksi dan pasca konstruksi). (2). Arus lalu lintas yang mulai tidak teratur. (3). Air sumur yang terganggu oleh aktivitas kegiatan area terpadu tersebut. (4). Kurangnya kesempatan kerja bagi warga lokal. Gambaran deskripsi sosial ekonomi dari Desa Ngringo: Persentase perbandingan antara jumlah penduduk laki-laki dengan jumlah penduduk perempuan di Desa Ngringo sebesar 0,97; Angka Beban Tanggungan (ABT) sebesar 47,55%; dan Kepadatan Penduduk (man land ratio) Desa Ngringo adalah 2,902 dan Rata-rata pendapatan responden yang ada di Desa Ngringo adalalah sebesar Rp1.297.000,00

The purpose of the study first to analyze and to identify positive and negative impacts of mix used area developed by PT. Gapura Mas Asri on the local society in Ngringo village from the perspective of social and economy then to describe about social and economy condition. The method used for this study is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The primary data of the study is obtained by conducting interviews about social and economic aspects which are described in questionnaires, and the secondary data of the study is obtained from reports published by Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Karanganyar. The result of the study is that the mix used area developed by PT. Garuda Mas Asri has both positive and negative impacts. The positive impacts of the development in the aspects of social and economy are: (1) Able to reduce unemployment that exists in Ngringo. (2) Able to improve living quality. (3) Able to encourage to start new small businesses such as small restaurant, dormitory, phone card store, and laundry. (4) Increase the price of land particularly in Ngringo village. (5) Increase the revenue of Karanganyar district generally and PDRB of Jaten region specifically. The negative impacts of the development in the aspects of social and economy are: (1) Noise produced by motor traffic (during pre-construction, on-going construction and after construction). (2) The traffic start getting terrible. (3) Well water is getting contaminated by activities in the mix used area. (4) less opportunity to get jobs for local people. And then description of socio-economy at Ngringo are percentage of sex ratio 0,97; Depedendency Ratio 47,55%, man land ratio 2,902 and Income average Rp 1.297.000,00.
