This final project report is written based on the internship program at RRI Surakarta from 6 January to 6 February 2016. The objectives of this report are to elaborate the process of translating news scripts and to find out both problems and solutions in translating news script for radio programs from Indonesian into English. There are three procedures applied when translating news scripts from Indonesian into English in order to make good news scripts. The procedures are: reading the whole news script, finding the unfamiliar words, and transforming the whole text.
There were some problems faced during translating news scripts. The problems were the lack of vocabulary when I found some unfamiliar words or terms, the tendency to translate same words into one meaning and to determine what the tenses should be used. I also presented the solutions to the problems. They were: looking for the unfamiliar words or terms in the dictionary or internet, asking help from the internship instructor to help me perfecting my choice of words and grammar by revising my work.
