The objectives of research were: 1) to find out the development of Inquiry Laboratory based module to Improve the Student’s Abilities in human movement system, 2) to find out the feasibility Inquiry Laboratory based module to Improve the Student’s Abilities in human movement system, and 3) to find out the effectiveness of Inquiry Laboratory based module to Improve the Student’s Abilities in human movement system in SMA Negeri 1 Mejayan.

The development of Inquiry Laboratory based module referred to 9 steps of Borg and Gall’s research and Development (R&D) model includ: 1) research and data collection, 2) planning, 3) product development, 4) early product trial, 5) first product revision, 6) field trial, 7) second product revision, 8) operating field trial, 9) finished product revision. The analysis on research result was conducted using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. 

The result of research includ: 1) the characteristics of Inquiry Laboratory Module in Human movement system developed using Inquiry Lab syntax were observation, manipulation, generalization, verification and application. In each learning activity the students were guided to find concept through laboratory activity, teacher served as facilitator and Inquiry Laboratory based module, 2) the validity of Inquiry Laboratory Module in human movement system could be used as new teaching material at school. The validity was based on the assessment on module through material expert’s validity test was 93.00%with very good qualification, through module development validity expert was 82.90% with very good qualification, through set validity expert was 95.70%with very good qualification. The small group test on field users (teachers and students found that practitioner (teacher) validator was 96.00% and 92.00% with very good qualification, and restricted test was 83.82% with very good qualification, and effectiveness test had been consistent with the development objective, 3) the effectiveness of Inquiry Laboratory Based Module in human movement system had to Improve the Student’s Abilities because it indicated the difference of posttest result between module and control classes at significance level of 0.000 < α=0.05.
