Menopause is period in normal life of a women and is confirmed when a women has not had a menstrual period for a 12 mounth. When menopause happens declining ovarian activity to produce estrogen and progesterone hormone. It causes around 80% women with menopause experience symptoms like hot flushes, sleep disturbance,night sweats,irritability, atrophy of vagina, ect. The age of women to reach menopause is influenced by generation, general health and life style. Life style of rural women and urban women is different. Based on the above background, the author is interested to research with the aim to investigate the difference of menopause age between rural and urban women. This is an analytic epidemiologic research with cross sectional. The primary data drawn from interview which are guided by questionnaires. Amount of sample is 100 women, consists of 50 rural women and 50 urban women. Statistic test used is “t” test. The result is arithmetic t = 3,38 while table t = 1,98. So arithmetic t > table t. The conclusion of this study is there is difference of menopause age between rural women dan urban women which rural women reach menopause earlier than urban women.
