The purpose of this research is to: (1) Increase the motivation, ability and skill of lecturer in learning that is by applying the methods that stimulate student activity and creativity, such as discussion method, diskaveri / inquiry and problem solving. (2) Improving the quality of students in learning that is by encouraging students to be more active and creative, both in searching sources of reference, discuss and perform tasks. This research was conducted in History Education Study Program in Semester III students of academic year 2006/2007 which took Kapita Selekta History of East Asia, followed by 35 students. The methods used are classroom action research or classroom action research, which includes four stages of action plan, action implementation, monitoring and evaluation and analysis and reflection. The four analyzes form a cycle that is done by recycling, and in this research two cycles are conducted. The results

showed that with the optimal method of Inkuiri, the quality of learning increased. This is reflected from: (1) teaching methods of lecturers are more varied, learning becomes more interesting and lively, (2) students are encouraged to be active and creative, both in finding sources of reference and in discussions and doing tasks. With the active and creative students in learning possible their learning achievement will increase.
