ABSTRACT
The research on the design of calorimeter based on microcontroller was successfully carried out. This study aims to make a calorimeter design with sensors LM35, Loadcell and Arduino UNO as the microcontroller to determine the specific heat of the material. This tool consists of a metal vessel that has two parts separated with air. One of the advantages of this tool is can take measurements quickly and in real time. The testing of the LM35 temperature sensor was conducted compare to the temperature measuring by manual thermometer at 32 ? to 37 ? with a linearity rate of 97.32%. Loadcell testing with HX711 modules at a load of 5 grams to 30 grams was compared to the measurement results of mass measurements with digital scales, which were obtained by a linearity rate of 96.12%. From the results of the test, design of calorimeter based on microcontroller was designed to measure the specific heat of material. The value calorimeter specific heat measurement results were 0.088 ± 0.007 kal / g ? and copper is 0.109 ± 0.024 kal / g ? with the copper heating value in the literature was 0.0924 kal / g ?.
