Abstract
Background : Basal type / Triple negative breast cancer is a markers to predict different biological bahavior, with more aggressive, more frequent metastases and poorer prognosis than other type.
Objective : To identify phenoty feature of triple negative breast cancer in Denpasar Bali.
Patients and Methods : IHC result fom patient diagnosed with breast cancer was collected from oncology Surgery division of Surgery Departement & Pathology Anatomy Departement in RSUP sanglah Denpasar, private Oncology Hospital, and private Pathology Anatomy laboratory during 2004-2009. We found 258 breast cancer patient got IHC examinations, wich only 224 patient have complete data and IHC result. Afterward we divided this data in to some categories, luminal A, luminal B, HER2 type and basal type. Data also divided into group, basal type and non basal type. Furthermore we analyzed the age and pathology result between these two groups. Cut off point for positive ER, PR was 10% or more cell were stained. For postive HER2 cut off point was strong [removed]positive 3) on 30% cell or more.
Results : From 224 data patient, 0,4% luminal A, 51% were luminal B type, 17% were HER2 type, 31% were basal type, in this last group the range of ages were 31 % to 81 %. Age between two group, basal type and non basal type were not different (p = 0,819). Pathology result between this two group were different (p = 0.000)
Conclusion : The means age of this two group are not significantly different but the Pathology result are significantly different wich is basal type have more advance in grading.
