ABSTRACT

This research aims to answer how the issues of Black racial stereotype and race relationship are being used in the transcript of Chris Rock’s standup comedy entitled Never Scared. Therefore, this research is in a form of a descriptive qualitative which uses the comedy theory through Arthur Asa Berger’s techniques of comedy. After undergoing the analysis, this research finds that the transcript of Chris Rock’s standup comedy entitled Never Scared exposes racial violence between Black and White people. The transcript also signifies how Black people are considered as inferior race in US society which then leads to the mentioning of racial discrimination towards Black people.
