This report is written based on the internship program in Department of Tourism of Semarang Regency from January 15th, 2018 and finished on February 15th, 2018. The objectives are to explain the process of translating texts of tourist attraction and cuisines in Semarang Regency, discuss about the obstacles that be faced, and find out the solution of the obstacles.
I translated 21 articles of brief description of tourist attractions in Semarang Regency and 7 articles of special cuisines in this town during the internship. There are three stages used in translating those articles. Those are analyzing Source Text, transferring the Message from Indonesian into English, restructuring and rechecking the Text. There were also some obstacles faced during this internship program, such as lack of information about tourist attraction in source text, bad structure of source text, and unfamiliar words. The solutions to each obstacle were finding related information on the Internet, restructuring the structure of the source text and looking at online dictionaries.
